System Description [11/2015 - ]

  1. GENERAL 
    1. To assist the driver with parking the vehicle by displaying an image of the area behind the vehicle, this system has a rear television camera assembly mounted on the back door. The system displays the image on the multi-display.
    2. The rear view monitor system consists of the following components:
      1. Rear television camera assembly
      2. Navigation receiver assembly*1
      3. Radio and display receiver assembly*2
      4. BACKUP LP relay
    • *1: for Navigation System
    • *2: for Audio and Visual System
  2. FUNCTION OF COMPONENTS 
    Item Function
    Rear Television Camera Assembly
    • Mounted on the back door to transmit an image of the area behind the vehicle to the navigation receiver assembly*1 or radio and display receiver assembly*2.
    • Has a color video camera that uses a Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS) and a wide-angle lens.
    • Navigation Receiver Assembly*1
    • Radio and Display Receiver Assembly*2
    • Receives video signals, which contain an image of the area behind the vehicle taken with the rear television camera assembly.
    • Performs control of the system by receiving the reverse signal from the BKUP LP relay.
    BKUP LP Relay Receives the reverse signal from the power management control ECU and transmits it to the navigation receiver assembly*1 or radio and display receiver assembly*2.

  3. OPERATION EXPLANATION 
    1. The navigation receiver assembly*1 or radio and display receiver assembly*2 receives the reverse signal when the ignition switch is turned to ON (IG) and the shift lever is moved to R. After receiving the reverse signal, the navigation receiver assembly*1 or radio and display receiver assembly*2 switches to the rear view monitor system.
