TC and CG Terminal Circuit [12/2012 - 10/2015]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR DTC (CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM) 
    1. Check if the CAN communication system DTC is output.

      Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [12/2012 - 11/2013] Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM [11/2013 - 10/2015]

    Result: 

    CAN communication system DTC is output 

    GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING):  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [12/2012 - 10/2015] 

    Result: 

    CAN communication system DTC is not output

  2. INSPECT DLC3 
    1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.

      *a DLC3
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      G14-13 (TC) - G14-4 (CG) Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V

    Result: 

    OK

    Result: 

    NG

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TC OF DLC3 - TC OF ECM AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Disconnect the A62 ECM connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G14-13 (TC) - A62-23 (TC) Always Below 1 Ω
      G14-13 (TC) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CG OF DLC3 - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G14-4 (CG) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      *a Front view of DLC3

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  5. INSPECT ECM (TC of DLC3 INPUT) 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.

      *a DLC3
    2. Using SST, connect terminals 13 (TC) and 4 (CG) of the DLC3.
      • SST: 09843-18040 
    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    4. Check that the malfunction indicator lamp is blinking.

    Result: 

    Malfunction indicator lamp is blinking 

    REPLACE ECM:  REMOVAL [12/2012 - ] 

    Result: 

    Malfunction indicator lamp is not blinking 

    REPLACE 4WD ECU ASSEMBLY:  REMOVAL [12/2012 - ]
