Navigation Receiver Assembly Communication Stop Mode [12/2015 - 11/2017]: Procedure

  1. PRECAUTION 
    NOTE:

    After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work (Refer to PRECAUTION [12/2015 - 08/2016] , or refer to PRECAUTION [08/2016 - ] ).

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal before measuring the resistances of the main wire and the branch wire.
      WARNING:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

      NOTE:

      When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Refer to INITIALIZATION [12/2015 - 08/2016] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2016 - 11/2017] )

  3. CHECK CAN BUS LINE FOR DISCONNECTION (NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY BRANCH WIRE) 
    1. Disconnect the navigation receiver assembly connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      D153-9 (CANH) - D153-10 (CANL) Ignition switch off 54 to 69 Ω
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Navigation Receiver Assembly)

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN BRANCH WIRE CONNECTED TO NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY (CAN-H, CAN-L) 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - POWER SOURCE) 
    1. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
      NOTE:

      When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Refer to INITIALIZATION [12/2015 - 08/2016] , or refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2016 - 11/2017] )

    2. Disconnect the navigation receiver assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D57-7 (GND1) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      D57-4 (+B1) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V
      D57-3 (ACC1) - Body ground Ignition switch ACC 11 to 14 V
      D153-1 (IG) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [12/2015 - 11/2017] )

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
