Installation [08/2015 - 11/2017]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL KNOCK SENSOR 

    HINT: 

    Perform "Inspection After Repair" after replacing the knock sensor (Refer to INITIALIZATION [08/2015 - 11/2017] ).

    1. Install the knock sensor to the cylinder block sub-assembly with the bolt.

      Front of Vehicle

      Torque: 20 N*m (204 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf) 

      NOTE:

      Make sure that the knock sensor is at the correct angle when installing.

    2. Connect the knock sensor connector.
  2. INSTALL INTAKE MANIFOLD 
    1. Install the No. 1 intake manifold insulator to the intake manifold.

      NOTE:
      • Insert the protrusions of the No. 1 intake manifold insulator into the grille of the intake manifold.
      • Insert the No. 1 intake manifold insulator until the position of the line as shown in the illustration.

        *1 No. 1 Intake Manifold Insulator

    2. Install a new gasket to the intake manifold.

    3. Install the intake manifold with the 5 bolts and 2 nuts.

      Torque: 25 N*m (255 kgf*cm, 18 ft.*lbf) 

    4. Install the 2 No. 2 intake manifold insulators to the intake manifold.
    5. Install the heater hose bracket to the intake manifold with the bolt.

      Torque: 19 N*m (194 kgf*cm, 14 ft.*lbf) 

    6. Connect the vacuum hose and slide the hose clip to secure it.
    7. Connect the No. 3 ventilation hose and slide the hose clip to secure it.
    8. Install the No. 2 water by-pass hose.
    9. Engage the 2 clamps to install the wire harness.
  3. INSTALL PURGE VSV 
    1. Install the purge VSV to the intake manifold with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 9.0 N*m (92 kgf*cm, 80 in.*lbf) 

    2. Connect the No. 2 fuel vapor feed hose and slide the hose clip to secure it.
    3. Connect the No. 1 fuel vapor feed hose and slide the hose clip to secure it.
    4. Engage the clamp to install the wire harness.
    5. Connect the purge VSV connector.
  4. CONNECT NO. 2 FUEL HOSE 
    1. Install the No. 2 fuel hose to the fuel pipe clamp.
    2. Connect the No. 2 fuel hose (Refer to PRECAUTION [08/2015 - 11/2017] ).
  5. CONNECT FUEL HOSE 
    1. Install the fuel hose to the fuel pipe clamp.
    2. Connect the fuel hose (Refer to PRECAUTION [08/2015 - 11/2017] ).
  6. INSTALL THROTTLE BODY WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY 

    (Refer to INSTALLATION [08/2015 - 11/2017] )

  7. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Torque: 5.4 N*m (55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf) 

  8. INSPECT FOR FUEL LEAK 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8
