Knock Sensor: Inspection: Procedure

  1. INSPECT KNOCK SENSOR 
    1. Resistance Inspection
      1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

        Refer to REMOVAL

      2. Remove the plug hole plate.

        Refer to REMOVAL

      3. Remove the intake manifold.

        Refer to REMOVAL

      4. Remove the KS.

        Refer to REMOVAL 

      5. Measure the resistance between KS terminals 1 and 2.

        If not as specified, replace the KS.

        Refer to REMOVAL 

        Specification (Reference)

        504 to 616 kilohms [10 to 30 °C (50 to 86 °F)]
