Microphone Circuit between Microphone and Navigation Receiver Assembly [09/2016 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK MICROPHONE (OPERATION CHECK) 
    1. Enter the "Microphone Check" screen. Refer to Check Microphone in Operation Check.

      Refer to OPERATION CHECK [09/2016 - 05/2019] , or refer to OPERATION CHECK [05/2019 - ]

    2. When a voice is input into the microphone, check that the microphone input level meter changes according to the input voice.
    3. Push the recording switch and perform voice recording.

      HINT: 

      • Select the recording switch with the blower motor of the air conditioning system stopped. If an outlet of the air conditioning system is facing the microphone, noise may be recorded.
      • Voice can be recorded for up to 5 seconds.
    4. Check that the recording indicator remains on while recording and that the recorded voice is played normally without noise or distortion.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - TELEPHONE MICROPHONE ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the I33 navigation receiver assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the O2 telephone microphone assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I33-4 (MACC) - O2-1 (MACC) Always Below 1 Ω
      I33-5 (MIN+) - O2-2 (MCO+) Always Below 1 Ω
      I33-19 (MIN-) - O2-4 (MCO-) Always Below 1 Ω
      I33-6 (SNS2) - O2-3 (SNS2) Always Below 1 Ω
      I33-4 (MACC) or O2-1 (MACC) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      I33-5 (MIN+) or O2-2 (MCO+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      I33-19 (MIN-) or O2-4 (MCO-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      I33-18 (SGND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      I33-6 (SNS2) or O2-3 (SNS2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  3. INSPECT NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I33-4 (MACC) - Body ground Power switch on (ACC) 4 to 6 V
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      I33-18 (SGND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      I33-19 (MIN-) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - TELEPHONE MICROPHONE ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the I33 navigation receiver assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the O2 telephone microphone assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I33-6 (SNS2) - O2-3 (SNS2) Always Below 1 Ω
      I33-6 (SNS2) or O2-3 (SNS2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) - TELEPHONE MICROPHONE ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the I38 DCM (telematics transceiver) connector.
    2. Disconnect the O2 telephone microphone assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I38-33 (MCVD) - O2-1 (MACC) Always Below 1 Ω
      I38-34 (MCI+) - O2-2 (MCO+) Always Below 1 Ω
      I38-35 (MCI-) - O2-4 (MCO-) Always Below 1 Ω
      I38-33 (MCVD) or O2-1 (MACC) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      I38-34 (MCI+) or O2-2 (MCO+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      I38-35 (MCI-) or O2-4 (MCO-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      I38-32 (SGND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER)) 
    1. Disconnect the I33 navigation receiver assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the I38 DCM (telematics transceiver) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I33-5 (MIN+) - I38-18 (MCO+) Always Below 1 Ω
      I33-19 (MIN-) - I38-19 (MCO-) Always Below 1 Ω
      I33-5 (MIN+) or I38-18 (MCO+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      I33-19 (MIN-) or I38-19 (MCO-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      I33-18 (SGND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  7. INSPECT NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the I38 DCM (telematics transceiver) connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      I33-18 (SGND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

  8. INSPECT DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) 
    1. Reconnect the I38 DCM (telematics transceiver) connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      (DCM (Telematics Transceiver))

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I38-33 (MCVD) - Body ground Power switch on (ACC) 4 to 6 V
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      I38-32 (SGND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      I38-35 (MCI-) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

  9. INSPECT TELEPHONE MICROPHONE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the telephone microphone assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [09/2016 - ]

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      3 (SNS2) - 4 (MCO-) Always Below 1 Ω

  10. INSPECT TELEPHONE MICROPHONE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Turn the power switch on (ACC).
    2. Connect an oscilloscope to terminals 2 (MCO+) and 4 (MCO-) of the O2 telephone microphone assembly connector.

    3. Check the waveform of the telephone microphone assembly using the oscilloscope.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      A waveform synchronized with the voice input to the telephone microphone assembly is output. A
      A waveform synchronized with the voice input to the telephone microphone assembly is not output. B

    Result: 

    REPLACE NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2016 - 05/2019]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [05/2019 - 07/2020]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [07/2020 - ] 

    Result: 

    REPLACE TELEPHONE MICROPHONE ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2016 - ]
