- DESCRIPTION
Dynamic torque control AWD system data can be read through the Data Link Connector 3 (DLC3) of the vehicle. When the system seems to be malfunctioning, use the Techstream to check for malfunctions and perform repairs. Therefore when there seems to be a problem with the dynamic torque control AWD system, use the Techstream or SST to check and troubleshoot it.
- CHECK DATA LINK CONNECTOR 3 (DLC3)
- Check the DLC3.

- FUNCTION OF AWD WARNING LIGHT
- The AWD warning light in the combination meter warns the driver of abnormal or poor condition of the dynamic torque control AWD system.
- If the 4WD ECU assembly detects a malfunction, the AWD warning light comes on in accordance with the trouble area to warn the driver.
- CHECK WARNING LIGHT AND INDICATOR LIGHT
- Check warning and indicator lights.
- When the ignition switch is turned to ON, check that the AWD warning and AWD lock mode indicator lights come on and go off within approximately 4 seconds.
HINT:
If the warning and indicator lights do not illuminate, check for combination meter assembly and CAN communication system DTCs, since the 4WD ECU assembly and combination meter assembly are connected by the CAN communication line.
If the warning light remains on, perform relevant troubleshooting procedures. The relevant troubleshooting procedures are in the sections listed in the table below.
