- GENERAL
- This system has a rear television camera assembly mounted on the back door to assist the driver in parking the vehicle by displaying an image of the area behind the vehicle. The system displays the image on the inner rear view mirror assembly.
- This system consists of the following components:
- Rear television camera assembly
- Inner rear view mirror assembly
- Rear television camera assembly
- Back-up light switch assembly*1
- Park/neutral position switch assembly*2
- *1: for Manual Transmission
- *2: for Automatic Transmission
- FUNCTION OF COMPONENTS
- The inner rear view mirror assembly controls the system by using information from the following components:
Components Function Rear Television Camera Assembly - Captures the view behind the vehicle and transmits the image to the inner rear view mirror assembly.
- Has a color video camera that uses a Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS) and wide-angle lens.
Inner Rear View Mirror Assembly - Receives the video signals which contain an image of the area behind the vehicle taken with the Rear television camera assembly.
- Performs control of the system by receiving the reverse signal from the back-up light switch assembly*1 or park/neutral position switch assembly*2.
Back-up Light Switch Assembly*1
Park/Neutral Position Switch Assembly*2Transmits a reverse signal to the inner rear view mirror assembly. - *1: for Manual Transmission

- The inner rear view mirror assembly controls the system by using information from the following components:
- OPERATION EXPLANATION
- The inner rear view mirror assembly receives the reverse signal when the ignition switch is turned to ON and the shift lever is moved to R. After receiving the reverse signal, the inner rear view mirror assembly displays an image of the area behind the vehicle from the rear television camera assembly.
*1 Inner Rear View Mirror Assembly *a Display HINT:
When the shift lever is moved to any position except R, the display turns off.
- The inner rear view mirror assembly receives the reverse signal when the ignition switch is turned to ON and the shift lever is moved to R. After receiving the reverse signal, the inner rear view mirror assembly displays an image of the area behind the vehicle from the rear television camera assembly.
