DTC P2530: Ignition Switch Run Position Circuit [06/2016 - 03/2017]: Procedure

  1. INSPECT IGNITION OR STARTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Inspect the ignition or starter switch assembly (Refer to INSPECTION [06/2016 - ] ).

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE IGNITION OR STARTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [06/2016 - 03/2017] )

    Result: 

    OK

  2. INSPECT RELAY (IG2) 
    1. Inspect the IG2 relay (Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 ).

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE RELAY (IG2) 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (IGNITION OR STARTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY - IG2 RELAY) 
    1. Disconnect the ignition or starter switch assembly connector.
    2. Remove the IG2 relay from the engine room relay block assembly.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
      STANDARD RESISTANCE (CHECK FOR OPEN)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D55-6 (IG2) - IG2 relay terminal 2 Always Below 1 Ω
      STANDARD RESISTANCE (CHECK FOR SHORT)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D55-6 (IG2) or IG2 relay terminal 2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (IG2 RELAY - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Remove the IG2 relay from the engine room relay block assembly.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
      STANDARD RESISTANCE (CHECK FOR OPEN)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      IG2 relay terminal 1 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (IG2 RELAY - ECM) 
    1. Disconnect the ECM connector.
    2. Remove the IG2 relay from the engine room relay block assembly.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
      STANDARD RESISTANCE (CHECK FOR OPEN)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      IG2 relay terminal 3 - A33-27 (IGSW) Always Below 1 Ω
      STANDARD RESISTANCE (CHECK FOR SHORT)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      IG2 relay terminal 3 or A33-27 (IGSW) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  6. CHECK WHETHER DTC OUTPUT RECURS 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Clear the DTCs (Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [06/2016 - ] ).
    5. Start the engine.
    6. Drive the vehicle in accordance with the driving pattern described in Confirmation Driving Pattern.
    7. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Trouble Codes.
    8. Read DTCs.
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      DTC is not output A
      DTC P2530 is output B

    Result: 

    CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS 

    (Refer to CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS [06/2016 - ] )

    Result: 

    REPLACE ECM 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [06/2016 - ] )
