Installation [06/2016 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL SPARK PLUG (for Bank 1) 
    1. Using the spark plug wrench 14 mm, tilt extension bar 35 mm and universal joint 54 mm, and install the 2 spark plugs onto the cylinder head sub-assembly.

      Torque: 17 N*m (173 kgf*cm, 13 ft.*lbf) 

      NOTE:

      If a component has been dropped or subjected a strong impact, replace it.

  2. INSTALL IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY (for Bank 1) 
    1. Install the 2 ignition coils onto the cylinder head cover sub-assembly with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 8.5 N*m (87 kgf*cm, 75 in.*lbf) 

      NOTE:

      If a component has been dropped or subjected a strong impact, replace it.

    2. Connect the 2 ignition coil connectors to the ignition coil.
      NOTE:

      Make sure that the spring on the connector lock is back in the original position as shown in the illustration.

  3. INSTALL INJECTOR DRIVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  4. INSTALL SPARK PLUG (for Bank 2) 
    1. Using the spark plug wrench 14 mm, tilt extension bar 35 mm and universal joint 54 mm, and install the 2 spark plugs onto the cylinder head sub-assembly.

      Torque: 17 N*m (173 kgf*cm, 13 ft.*lbf) 

      NOTE:

      If a component has been dropped or subjected a strong impact, replace it.

  5. INSTALL IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY (for Bank 2) 
    1. Install the 2 ignition coils onto the cylinder head cover sub-assembly with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 8.5 N*m (87 kgf*cm, 75 in.*lbf) 

      NOTE:

      If a component has been dropped or subjected a strong impact, replace it.

    2. Connect the 2 ignition coil connectors to the ignition coil.
      NOTE:

      Make sure that the spring on the connector lock is back in the original position as shown in the illustration.

  6. INSTALL INJECTOR COVER (for Bank 2) 
    1. Install the injector cover with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 19 N*m (194 kgf*cm, 14 ft.*lbf) 

    2. Engage the clamp, and install the fuel hoses.
  7. REMOVE SST 
    1. Hoist the engine assembly up with an engine sling device and a mini crane.
    2. Remove the SST.

      • SST: 09250-53011 
    3. Install 2 new nuts.

      Torque: 60 N*m (612 kgf*cm, 44 ft.*lbf) 

    4. Remove the rope that is tying the front exhaust pipe sub-assembly to the front suspension cross member sub-assembly.
  8. REMOVE ENGINE HANGER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 35 [06/2016 - 03/2017] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 36 [03/2017 - ]

  9. INSTALL EXHAUST MANIFOLD 

    (Refer to INSTALLATION [06/2016 - ] )

  10. CONNECT ENGINE WIRE 
    1. Engage the 2 clamps to connect the engine wire.
    2. Connect the engine wire with the wire harness clamp bracket mount bolt and 3 clamps.

      Torque: 11 N*m (112 kgf*cm, 8 ft.*lbf) 

    3. Engage the claw and connect the engine wire (for Manual Transmission).
    4. Connect the engine wire with the 4 clamps.
  11. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP WITH AIR CLEANER HOSE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  12. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION UPPER TO COWL BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  13. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION UPPER TO COWL BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  14. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3

  15. ADJUST SHIFT LEVER POSITION 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2

  16. INSPECT SHIFT LEVER POSITION 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  17. SET HOOD SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 51 [06/2016 - 03/2017] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 52 [03/2017 - ]
