How To Proceed With Troubleshooting [11/2015 - 07/2020]: Procedure

  1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP

  2. INSPECT AUXILIARY BATTERY VOLTAGE 
    1. Measure the auxiliary battery voltage with the power switch off.

      Standard Voltage

      11 to 14 V

      If the voltage is below 11 V, replace or recharge the auxiliary battery before proceeding to the next step.

  3. INSPECT MILLIMETER WAVE RADAR SENSOR ASSEMBLY* 
    1. Adjust the reflector height.

      Refer to ADJUSTMENT [11/2015 - 12/2018] , or refer to ADJUSTMENT [12/2018 - 07/2020]

    2. Place the reflector.

      Refer to ADJUSTMENT [11/2015 - 12/2018] , or refer to ADJUSTMENT [12/2018 - 07/2020]

    3. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    4. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    5. Turn the Techstream on.
    6. Turn the cruise control main switch (ON/OFF button) on.
    7. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Pre-Collision 2 / Utility / Front Beam Axis Misalignment Reading.
    8. Check the amount of misalignment and make a note.

      Body Electrical > Pre-Collision 2 > Utility 

      Tester Display
      Front Beam Axis Misalignment Reading
    9. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Pre-Collision 2 / Utility / Front Beam Axis Offset Reading.
    10. Check the amount of offset and make a note.

      Body Electrical > Pre-Collision 2 > Utility 

      Tester Display
      Front Beam Axis Offset Reading
    11. Calculate the "Dealership Axis Offset Angle (with On-line Calibration Angle)" using the values "Front Beam Axis Misalignment Reading" and "Front Beam Axis Offset Reading".
      1. "Dealership Axis Offset Angle (with On-line Calibration Angle)" = "Front Beam Axis Misalignment Reading" - "Front Beam Axis Offset Reading"

        Standard

        Dealership Axis Offset Angle (with On-line Calibration Angle) 

        Vertical -2.2 to 1.6 deg.
        Horizontal -0.6 to 0.6 deg.

      Result

  4. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM* 
    1. Using the Techstream, check that the CAN communication system is functioning normally.

      Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [11/2015 - 12/2018] , or refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [12/2018 - ]

  5. CHECK METER / GAUGE SYSTEM* 
    1. Use the Techstream to check if the meter / gauge system is functioning normally.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [11/2015 - ]

      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Meter / gauge system DTCs are not output A
      Meter / gauge system DTCs are output B

    Result: 

    GO TO METER / GAUGE SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [11/2015 - ]

  6. CHECK ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED BRAKE SYSTEM 
    1. Use the Techstream to check if the electronically controlled brake system is functioning normally.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [11/2015 - 12/2018] , or refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [12/2018 - ]

      Chassis > ABS/VSC/TRAC > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Electronically controlled brake system DTCs is not output A
      Electronically controlled brake system DTCs are output B

    Result: 

    GO TO ELECTRONICALLY CONTROLLED BRAKE SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [11/2015 - 12/2018]  , or refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [12/2018 - ]

  7. CHECK FOR DTCs (DYNAMIC RADAR CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM) 
    1. Check for DTCs and note any codes that are output.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [11/2015 - 07/2020] 

      Powertrain > Cruise Control > Trouble Codes 

      Powertrain > Radar Cruise2 > Trouble Codes 

    2. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [11/2015 - 07/2020] 

      Powertrain > Cruise Control > Clear DTCs 

      Powertrain > Radar Cruise2 > Clear DTCs 

    3. Recheck for DTCs. Try to reproduce the DTCs by duplicating the conditions indicated by the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [11/2015 - 07/2020] 

      Powertrain > Cruise Control > Trouble Codes 

      Powertrain > Radar Cruise2 > Trouble Codes

    Result: 

    GO TO DTC CHART. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [11/2015 - 11/2017]  , or refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [11/2017 - 12/2018]  , or refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART [12/2018 - 07/2020]

  10. ADJUST, REPAIR OR REPLACE 
    NOTE:

    When the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly is replaced with a new one, adjustment of the radar sensor beam axis must be performed.

    Refer to ADJUSTMENT [11/2015 - 12/2018] , or refer to ADJUSTMENT [12/2018 - 07/2020]
