System Description [11/2015 - ]

  1. GENERAL 
    1. To assist the driver with parking the vehicle by displaying an image of the area behind the vehicle, this system has a rear television camera assembly mounted on the back door. The system displays the image on the multi-display.
    2. The rear view monitor system consists of the following components:
      1. Rear television camera assembly
      2. Radio and display receiver assembly*1
      3. Navigation receiver assembly*2
      4. BKUP LP Relay
        1. *1: w/o Navigation System
        2. *2: w/ Navigation System
  2. FUNCTION OF COMPONENTS 
    Item Function
    Rear Television Camera Assembly
    • Mounted on the back door to transmit an image of the area behind the vehicle to the radio and display receiver assembly*1 or navigation receiver assembly*2.
    • Has a color video camera that uses a Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS) and a wide-angle lens.
    • Radio and Display Receiver Assembly*1
    • Navigation Receiver Assembly*2
    • Receives video signals, which contain an image of the area behind the vehicle taken with the rear television camera assembly.
    • Performs control of the system by receiving the reverse signal from the BKUP LP relay.
    BKUP LP Relay Receives the reverse signal from the hybrid vehicle control ECU assembly and transmits it to the radio and display receiver assembly*1 or navigation receiver assembly*2.

  3. OPERATION EXPLANATION 
    1. The radio and display receiver assembly*1 or navigation receiver assembly*2 receives the reverse signal when the power switch is on (IG) and reverse (R) is selected. After receiving the reverse signal, the radio and display receiver assembly*1 or navigation receiver assembly*2 switches to the rear view monitor system.
