Installation [11/2018 - ]: Procedure

  1. ALIGN FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD 
  2. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY 
    NOTE:

    Make sure that the wire harness is not interfering with the steering column assembly.

    1. Install the steering column assembly with the bolt and 2 nuts.

      Torque: 36 N.m (367 kgf/cm, 27 ft.lbf) 

      NOTE:
      • After the column is installed, check the tilt operation.
      • If a large amount of force is required to operate the tilt mechanism or abnormal noise occurs, loosen the nuts and move the bracket forward or backward until the tilt operation works smoothly.

        Tighten the nuts and check the tilt operation again.

    2. Connect each connector and engage each wire harness clamp to the steering column assembly.
  3. INSTALL STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Align the matchmarks on the steering intermediate shaft assembly and steering column assembly.

      *a Matchmark
    2. Install the steering intermediate shaft assembly to the steering column assembly.
    3. Install the bolt.

      Torque: 35 N.m (357 kgf/cm, 26 ft.lbf) 

    4. Tighten the clamp.

  4. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN HOLE COVER 
    1. Install the steering column hole cover with the 2 clips.

    2. Install the clip.
    3. Return the floor carpet.
  5. CONNECT STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSEMBLY 

    See step  5

  6. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  7. INSTALL NO. 1 AIR DUCT (for TMC Made) 
    1. Attach the 3 claws to install a new No. 1 air duct.

      Front
    2. Install the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 9.8 N.m (100 kgf/cm, 87 in.lbf) 

  8. INSTALL NO. 2 AIR DUCT SUB-ASSEMBLY (for TMMC Made) 
    1. Attach the 3 claws to install a new No. 2 air duct sub-assembly.

    2. Install the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 9.8 N.m (100 kgf/cm, 87 in.lbf) 

  9. INSTALL TURN SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    NOTE:
    • Do not replace the spiral cable with sensor sub-assembly with the battery connected and the ignition switch ON.
    • Do not rotate the spiral cable with sensor sub-assembly without the steering wheel assembly installed, with the battery connected and the ignition switch ON.
    • Ensure that the steering wheel assembly is installed and aligned straight when inspecting the steering sensor.
    1. Using pliers, support the band clamp while loosened and set the turn signal switch assembly with spiral cable sub-assembly.

    2. Attach the claw to install the turn signal switch assembly with spiral cable sub-assembly to the steering column assembly as shown in the illustration.

      Install in this Direction
    3. Tighten the band clamp.
    4. Connect each connector to the turn signal switch assembly with spiral cable sub-assembly.
  10. INSTALL UPPER STEERING COLUMN COVER

      Attach the 2 claws and 4 clips to connect the upper steering column cover.

    2. Attach the claw to install the upper steering column cover.

      Install in this direction
  11. INSTALL LOWER STEERING COLUMN COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Attach the 2 claws to install the lower steering column cover sub-assembly.

    2. Install the 3 screws.

  12. INSTALL INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 31 [11/2018 - 08/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 30 [08/2020 - 10/2022] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 30 [10/2022 - ]

  13. INSTALL LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1 [11/2018 - 08/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1 [08/2020 - ]

  14. INSTALL LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 19 [11/2018 - 08/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 18 [08/2020 - 10/2022] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 18 [10/2022 - ]

  15. INSTALL FUSE BOX OPENING COVER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 20 [11/2018 - 08/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 19 [08/2020 - 10/2022] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 19 [10/2022 - ]

  16. INSTALL INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 32 [11/2018 - 08/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 31 [08/2020 - 10/2022] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 31 [10/2022 - ]

  17. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 25 [11/2018 - 08/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 24 [08/2020 - 10/2022] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 24 [10/2022 - ]

  18. INSTALL COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 26 [11/2018 - 08/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 25 [08/2020 - 10/2022] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 25 [10/2022 - ]

  19. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 27 [11/2018 - 08/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 26 [08/2020 - 10/2022] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 26 [10/2022 - ]

  20. ALIGN FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD 
  21. INSPECT AND ADJUST SPIRAL CABLE WITH SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [11/2018 - 08/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [08/2020 - ]

  22. CHECK STEERING WHEEL CENTER POINT 
  23. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [11/2018 - 08/2020] , or refer to INSTALLATION [08/2020 - ] 

  24. INSTALL CABLE TO NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL 
  25. INSTALL BATTERY HOLE COVER (for HV Model) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3 [11/2018 - 08/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3 [08/2020 - ]

  26. INSTALL REAR NO. 2 FLOOR BOARD (for HV Model) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 [11/2018 - 08/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4 [08/2020 - ]

  27. INSTALL DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY (for HV Model) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 [11/2018 - 08/2020] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5 [08/2020 - ]
