Reassembly [11/2018 - 12/2021]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL STEERING LOCK ACTUATOR WITH ECU ASSEMBLY (w/ Smart Key System) 

    HINT: 

    When replacing the steering lock actuator with ECU assembly, refer to the Service Bulletin.

    1. Install the steering lock actuator with ECU assembly with the tapered-head bolt.

    2. Tighten the tapered-head bolt until the bolt head breaks off.
  2. INSTALL IGNITION OR STARTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY (w/o Smart Key System) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1

  3. INSTALL UN-LOCK WARNING SWITCH ASSEMBLY (w/o Smart Key System) 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [11/2018 - ]

  4. INSTALL IGNITION SWITCH LOCK CYLINDER ASSEMBLY (w/o Smart Key System) 
    1. Make sure that the ignition switch lock cylinder assembly is in the ACC position.
    2. Install the ignition switch lock cylinder assembly.
  5. INSPECT STEERING LOCK OPERATION 
    1. Check that the steering lock mechanism is activated when the key is removed.
    2. Check that the steering lock mechanism is deactivated when the key is inserted and turned to the ACC position.

      If there is any abnormality, replace the ignition switch lock cylinder assembly.

  6. INSTALL STEERING LOCK ACTUATOR OR UPPER BRACKET ASSEMBLY (w/o Smart Key System) 
    1. Install the steering column upper with switch bracket assembly with the tapered-head bolt.

    2. Tighten the tapered-head bolt until the bolt head breaks off.
  7. INSTALL TRANSPONDER KEY COIL (w/o Smart Key System) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1
