System Description [12/2021 - ]

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. for Driver Seat
    1. Front power seat control system description:
      • The driver seat is equipped with slide, reclining, lifter, front vertical and lumbar support adjustment functions.
      • The memory call function uses the key ID code of each electrical key transmitter sub-assembly to memorize and recall the appropriate driving position for each individual who possesses a master key or sub key.
    2. Function of main component:
      Component Function
Position control ECU assembly Receives position signals from the position sensors. Outputs seat adjuster signals to the slide motor (front seat adjuster assembly LH), power seat tilt motor assembly LH, power seat lifter motor assembly LH, reclining motor (front seatback frame sub-assembly LH) or lumbar support adjuster assembly LH to adjust the seat accordingly.
Slide motor (front seat adjuster assembly LH) Receives signals from the position control ECU assembly, and slides the seat forward and rearward.
Power seat tilt motor assembly LH Receives signals from the position control ECU assembly, and raises and lowers the front of the seat cushion.
Power seat lifter motor assembly LH Receives signals from the position control ECU assembly, and raises and lowers the seat cushion.
Reclining motor (front seatback frame sub-assembly LH) Receives signals from the position control ECU assembly, and tilts the seatback forward and rearward.
Position sensor Built into each motors (except lumbar support adjuster portion) and send position signals to the position control ECU assembly to detect the position of the seat.
Lumbar support adjuster assembly LH Receives signals from the position control ECU assembly and operates the built-in motor to adjust the lumbar support.
Seat memory switch If the SET switch is being pressed when one of the M1 or M2 seat memory switches is pressed, or if one of the M1 or M2 switches is pressed within 3 seconds of pressing the SET switch, the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) sends the signals so that the seat position can be stored.
Then, when a seat memory switch is pressed, a signal is sent to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) and the seat position changes according to memory.
Front power seat switch LH Transmits signals to the position control ECU assembly, and operates each power seat function.
    3. System operation:

The front power seat functions which can be operated by the power seat motors and memorized are shown below.

      Seat Function Driver Seat
      Slide Power and Memory
      Reclining Power and Memory
      Front Vertical Power and Memory
      Lifter Power and Memory
      Lumbar Support Adjustment Power

The seat memory switch sends memory switch information to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU). Then an instruction to memorize the seat position is sent to the position control ECU assembly via CAN communication. As a result, the seat position is memorized.

  2. Front Passenger Seat (w/ Front Passenger Side Power Seat)
    1. Front power seat control system description:

The front passenger seat is equipped with slide and reclining functions.

    2. Function of main component:
      Component Function
Slide motor (front seat adjuster assembly RH) Receives signals from the front power seat switch RH, and slides the seat forward and rearward.
Reclining motor (front power seat switch RH) Receives signals from the front power seat switch RH, and tilts the seatback forward and rearward.
Front power seat switch RH Transmits signals to the slide and reclining motor, and operates each power seat function.
Power seat lifter motor assembly RH Receives signals from the front power seat switch RH, and raises and lowers the seat cushion.
Power seat tilt motor assembly RH Receives signals from the front power seat switch RH, and raises and lowers the front of the seat cushion.
    3. System operation:

The front power seat functions which can be operated by the power seat motors are shown below.

      Seat Function Front Passenger Seat
      Slide Power
      Reclining Power
      Front Vertical Power
      Lifter Power
