Push Button Start System Does Not Operate [07/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. VERIFY DOOR CONTROL TRANSMITTER CONDITION 
    1. Verify that a metal object is not installed to the door control transmitter.
    2. Is a metal object installed?

      No

    Result: 

    Yes

  2. VERIFY MALFUNCTION CAUSE 
    1. Ask the customer malfunction condition.
    2. Did the customer operate the engine switch with all the engine switch system operation conditions met?

    Result: 

    No 

    SYSTEM IS NORMAL. (EXPLAIN THE CUSTOMER OPERATION CONDITION.)

  3. VERIFY ROOM 25 A FUSE AND INTERIOR 15 A FUSE CONDITIONS 
    1. Visually inspect the ROOM 25 A fuse and INTERIOR 15 A fuse for disconnection.
    2. Is there any fuse disconnection?

      No

    Result:

  4. VERIFY STEERING LOCK CONDITION 
    1. Verify that the steering lock operates normally.
    2. Does the steering lock operate normally?

    No 

    REFER TO "STEERING LOCK FUNCTION DOES NOT OPERATE" MALFUNCTION DIAGNOSIS AND PERFORM THE INSPECTION.. Refer to  STEERING LOCK FUNCTION DOES NOT OPERATE [07/2015 - ]

  5. INSPECT IF MALFUNCTION CAUSE IS OPEN CIRCUIT IN WIRING HARNESS BETWEEN ENGINE STOP AND START ECU AND ENGINE SWITCH 
    1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

      Refer to REMOVAL [07/2015 - ]

    2. Disconnect the engine stop and start ECU and engine switch connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D6-20 - D32-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      D4-17 - D32-5 Always Below 1 Ω

  6. INSPECT IF MALFUNCTION CAUSE IS OPEN CIRCUIT IN WIRING HARNESS BETWEEN ENGINE STOP AND START ECU AND GROUND 
    1. Verify that the engine stop and start ECU connector is disconnected.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D6-32 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      D4-13 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      D4-1 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    Result:

  7. VERIFY IF MALFUNCTION CAUSE WAS CORRECTED 
    1. Does the engine switch button operate correctly?

    Yes 

    TROUBLESHOOTING COMPLETED. (EXPLAIN THE CONTENTS OF THE SERVICING TO THE CUSTOMER.)

    No 

    IF THE MALFUNCTION HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED, REPEAT THE INSPECTION FROM STEP 1. 

  8. REPAIR OR REPLACE THE WIRING HARNESS FOR AN OPEN CIRCUIT. 
    1. After repair, go to the next step.

  9. REPAIR OR REPLACE THE WIRING HARNESS FOR AN OPEN CIRCUIT.

  10. INSTALL THE ROOM 25 A FUSE AND INTERIOR 15 A FUSE, THEN GO TO STEP 7.
