DTC P0116: Engine Coolant Temperature Circuit Range / Performance Problem [06/2016 - 07/2018]: Description

DTC No. DTC Detection Condition Trouble Area
P0116 Either of the following conditions is met (2 trip detection logic):
  • The difference between engine coolant temperature at engine start-up and intake air temperature 30 seconds after engine start is higher than 12 to 22°C (21.6 to 39.6°F).
  • At engine start-up, difference between engine coolant temperature and ambient air temperature is higher than 25°C (45.0°F).
  • Thermostat
  • Engine coolant temperature sensor
