- INSPECT TERMINAL VOLTAGE (POWER SOURCE OF NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH)
- Disconnect the neutral position switch connector.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

REPLACE NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH

- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH - ECM)
- Disconnect the ECM connector.
- Disconnect the neutral position switch connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance (Check for open)
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition A33-16 (NSW) - A54-2 Always Below 1 Ω A33-4 (EC) - A54-1 Always Below 1 Ω Standard Resistance (Check for short)
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition A33-16 (NSW) or A54-2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher A33-4 (EC) or A54-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

REPLACE ECM

- Disconnect the ECM connector.
- Disconnect the park/neutral position switch assembly connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition A33-16 (NSW) - L2-4 Always Below 1 Ω L2-5 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω Standard Resistance (Check for short)
