Confirmation Driving Pattern

  1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
  2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
  3. Turn the Techstream on.
  4. Clear the DTCs (even if no DTCs are stored, perform the clear DTC procedure).
  5. Turn the ignition switch off and wait for at least 30 seconds.
  6. Turn the ignition switch to ON [A].
  7. Turn the Techstream on.
  8. Start the engine and warm it up until the engine coolant temperature reaches 75°C (167°F) or higher [B].
  9. Drive the vehicle at 50 to 80 km/h (31 to 50 mph) for 15 minutes or more [C].
    WARNING:

    When performing the confirmation driving pattern, obey all speed limits and traffic laws.

    HINT: 

    Drive the vehicle while keeping the engine load as constant as possible.

  10. With the shift lever in S [D], accelerate the vehicle to 64 km/h (40 mph) or more by depressing the accelerator pedal for at least 10 seconds [E].
    WARNING:

    When performing the confirmation driving pattern, obey all speed limits and traffic laws.

  11. Soon after performing step [E] above, release the accelerator pedal for 10 seconds or more without depressing the brake pedal in order to execute fuel-cut control [F].
  12. Allow the vehicle to decelerate until the vehicle speed decreases to less than 10 km/h (6 mph).
  13. Repeat steps [D] through [F] above at least 3 times in one driving cycle.
  14. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Trouble Codes [G].
  15. Read the pending DTCs.

    HINT: 

    • If a pending DTC is output, the system is malfunctioning.
    • If a pending DTC is not output, perform the following procedure.
  16. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Utility / All Readiness.
  17. Input the DTC: P107A-2A.
  18. Check the DTC judgment result.
    Techstream Display Description
    NORMAL
    • DTC judgment completed
    • System normal
    ABNORMAL
    • DTC judgment completed
    • System abnormal
    INCOMPLETE
    • DTC judgment not completed
    • Perform driving pattern after confirming DTC enabling conditions

    HINT: 

    • If the judgment result is NORMAL, the system is normal.
    • If the judgment result is ABNORMAL, the system has a malfunction.
    • If the judgment result is INCOMPLETE, perform steps [C] through [G] again.
    • [A] to [G]: Normal judgment procedure.

      The normal judgment procedure is used to complete DTC judgment and also used when clearing permanent DTCs.

    • When clearing the permanent DTCs, do not disconnect the cable from the battery terminal or attempt to clear the DTCs during this procedure, as doing so will clear the universal trip and normal judgment histories.

  1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

  9. Drive the vehicle at approximately 80 km/h (50 mph) for 10 seconds or more, and then decelerate the vehicle by releasing the accelerator pedal for 10 seconds or more to perform the fuel-cut [C].
    WARNING:

    When performing the confirmation driving pattern, obey all speed limits and traffic laws.

  10. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Trouble Codes [D].
  11. Read the pending DTCs.

    HINT: 

    • If a pending DTC is output, the system is malfunctioning.
    • If a pending DTC is not output, perform the following procedure.
  12. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Utility / All Readiness.
  13. Input the DTC: P107A-64.
  14. Check the DTC judgment result.
    Techstream Display Description
    NORMAL
    • DTC judgment completed
    • System normal
    ABNORMAL
    • DTC judgment completed
    • System abnormal
    INCOMPLETE
    • DTC judgment not completed
    • Perform driving pattern after confirming DTC enabling conditions

    HINT:

    • If the judgment result is INCOMPLETE, perform steps [C] through [D] again.
