Operation Method [03/2019 - ]: Procedure
- SECURE VEHICLE
- Apply the parking brake.
- Turn the START-STOP button (engine switch) off.
HINT:
Pressing and holding the AUDIO button changes the power source mode to IG OFF.
- Using a wheel chocks to secure the vehicle.WARNING:
During power failure, make sure use wheel chocks to secure the vehicle as the parking brake cannot be used.
- PARKING LOCK FORCED RELEASE WARNING:
- Vehicle rolls away.
Danger of injury! Risk of damage!
- Secure the vehicle against rolling away before unlocking the parking lock.
HINT:
In the event of an open circuit, e.g. discharged battery or electrical fault, the parking lock must be unlocked manually, otherwise the wheels will be blocked and the vehicle cannot be moved.
- Raise vehicle.WARNING:
When using a jack, do not work on a vehicle supported only by jacks. Make sure to use safety stands.
- Remove the front floor cover.

- Pull selector shaft journal (1) downwards using special tool 2 355 850 (3).
- SST: 09700-WA050
- Install special tool 2 355 850 (2) between selector shaft journal (1) and transmission housing.
- SST: 09700-WA050
HINT:
The parking lock is unlocked.
- Vehicle rolls away.
- PARKING LOCK
- Pull selector shaft journal (1) downwards using special tool 2 355 850 (3).
- SST: 09700-WA050
- Remove special tool 2 355 850 (2).
- SST: 09700-WA050
HINT:
The parking lock is locked.
- Install the front floor cover.
