DTC C1AA8: Front Camera Module Incorrect Axial Gap; DTC C1AA9: Front Camera Module Beam Axis Not Adjusted [08/2019 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR DTCs (LANE DEPARTURE ALERT SYSTEM) 
    1. Check if the stored DTCs are current DTCs.
    2. Check for DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2019 - ]

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Current DTC C1AA8 is output A
      Current DTC C1AA9 is output B
      History DTC C1AA8 is output C

  2. CHECK VEHICLE CONDITION 
    1. Check the operating conditions of the vehicle.

      HINT: 

      DTC C1AA8 may be stored if the forward recognition camera optical axis is temporarily misaligned due to the vehicle being overloaded.

  3. CHECK WHEEL ALIGNMENT 
    1. Check the front wheel alignment (toe).

      Refer to ADJUSTMENT [12/2016 - ]

      HINT: 

      DTC C1AA8 may be stored if the forward recognition camera optical axis is misaligned due to incorrect wheel alignment (toe).

  4. ADJUST WHEEL ALIGNMENT 
    1. Adjust the alignment (toe) of the wheels.

  5. PERFORM FORWARD RECOGNITION CAMERA OPTICAL AXIS ADJUSTMENT 
    1. Perform Recognition Camera/Target Position Memory and Recognition Camera Axis Adjust.

      Refer to ADJUSTMENT (SEQUENTIAL RECOGNITION) [08/2019 - ]

  6. CHECK FOR DTCs (LANE DEPARTURE ALERT SYSTEM) 
    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2019 - ]

    2. Make sure that the DTC detection conditions are met.

      HINT: 

      If the conditions are not met, the system cannot detect the malfunction.

    3. Check for DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2019 - ]

  7. CHECK FORWARD RECOGNITION CAMERA INSTALLATION 
    1. Check the installation condition of the forward recognition camera.

      Refer to INSTALLATION [08/2019 - ]

      HINT: 

      If the forward recognition camera bracket is deformed or misaligned, replace the windshield glass.

      OK

      No deformation or misalignment in the forward recognition camera bracket.

  8. REPLACE WINDSHIELD GLASS 
    1. Replace the windshield glass.

      Refer to REMOVAL [08/2019 - ]

  9. PERFORM FORWARD RECOGNITION CAMERA OPTICAL AXIS ADJUSTMENT 
    1. Return the vehicle to normal operating conditions.
    2. Perform Recognition Camera/Target Position Memory and Recognition Camera Axis Adjust.

      Refer to ADJUSTMENT (SEQUENTIAL RECOGNITION) [08/2019 - ]

  10. CHECK FOR DTCs (LANE DEPARTURE ALERT SYSTEM) 
    1. Clear the DTCs.

      If the conditions are not met, the system cannot detect the malfunction.

    3. Check for DTCs.

  12. CHECK FOR DTCs (LANE DEPARTURE ALERT SYSTEM) 
    1. Clear the DTCs.

    2. Make sure that the DTC detection conditions are met.

      HINT: 

      If the conditions are not met, the system cannot detect the malfunction.

    3. Check for DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2019 - ]

  13. CLEAR DTCs 
    1. Check for DTCs related to the forward recognition camera.

      HINT: 

      If only history DTCs are stored, they may have been stored due to a temporarily condition such as overloading of the vehicle, and the system returned to normal when Recognition Camera/Target Position Memory and Recognition Camera Axis Adjust was performed.

    2. Clear the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [08/2019 - ]
