Reassembly [01/2019 - 09/2022]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL IGNITION OR STARTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY (w/o Smart Key System) 
    1. Engage the 2 claws to install the ignition or starter switch assembly onto the upper steering column bracket assembly.
  2. INSTALL UN-LOCK WARNING SWITCH ASSEMBLY (w/o Smart Key System) 
    1. Engage the 2 claws to install the un-lock warning switch assembly to the upper steering column bracket assembly.

      HINT: 

      Slide the un-lock warning switch assembly, in the direction shown by the arrow in the illustration, to install it.

  3. INSTALL IGNITION SWITCH LOCK CYLINDER ASSEMBLY (w/o Smart Key System) 
    1. Turn the ignition switch to ACC.

      *a LOCK
      *b ACC
      Install in this direction
    2. Install the ignition switch lock cylinder assembly to the upper steering column bracket assembly.
    3. Make sure that the ignition switch lock cylinder assembly is securely installed into the upper steering column bracket assembly.
  4. INSTALL ELECTRIC POWER STEERING MOTOR SHAFT DAMPER 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1 [01/2019 - 09/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1 [09/2019 - 09/2022]

  5. INSTALL POWER STEERING ECU WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [01/2019 - 09/2019] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [09/2019 - 09/2022]

  6. INSTALL UPPER STEERING COLUMN BRACKET WITH SWITCH ASSEMBLY (w/o Smart Key System) 
    1. Secure the steering column assembly in a vise between aluminum plates.
      NOTE:

      Do not overtighten the vise.

    2. Temporarily install the upper steering column bracket with switch assembly and upper steering column clamp with 2 new steering lock set bolts.
    3. Tighten the 2 steering lock set bolts until the bolt head breaks off.

  7. INSTALL STEERING LOCK ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY (w/ Smart Key System) 
    NOTE:

    When replacing the steering lock actuator assembly, perform registration.

    for HV Model: Refer to REGISTRATION [01/2019 - 04/2020] , or refer to REGISTRATION [04/2020 - 09/2022]

    for Gasoline Model: Refer to REGISTRATION [01/2019 - 09/2019] , or refer to REGISTRATION [09/2019 - 04/2020] , or refer to REGISTRATION [04/2020 - 09/2022]

    1. Secure the steering column assembly in a vise between aluminum plates.
      NOTE:

      Do not overtighten the vise.

    2. Temporarily install the steering lock actuator assembly and upper steering column clamp with 2 new steering lock set bolts.
    3. Tighten the 2 steering lock set bolts until the bolt head breaks off.
