Replacement [08/2013 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE TRANSMITTER HOUSING COVER 
    1. Using a precision screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, pry open the transmitter housing cover.

      NOTE:

      Do not forcibly pry the cover.

      HINT: 

      • Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
      • Open the transmitter housing cover as shown in the illustration so as not to drop the button.
  2. REMOVE DOOR CONTROL TRANSMITTER MODULE SET SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using a precision screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, remove the door control transmitter module set sub-assembly from the transmitter housing case.

      NOTE:

      Handle each part with care as they are delicate electrical parts.

      HINT: 

      • Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
      • When removing the module, take care not to drop the button.
  3. REMOVE TRANSMITTER BATTERY 
    1. Using a coin, twist it as shown in the illustration, and remove the transmitter battery cover.

    2. Remove the transmitter battery (lithium battery: CR2016).

      NOTE:
      • Do not push the terminals with your finger.
      • Do not forcibly pry up the transmitter battery as the terminals may be damaged.
      • Do not touch the transmitter battery with wet hands. Moisture may cause rust.
      • Do not touch or move any components inside the transmitter. It may interfere with proper operation.
      • When replacing the transmitter battery, before starting work, remove static electricity that has built up in the body by touching, for example, the vehicle to prevent the electrical transmitter from being damaged.
  4. INSTALL TRANSMITTER BATTERY 
    1. Install a new transmitter battery (lithium battery: CR2016) with the positive (+) side facing upward, as shown in the illustration.

      NOTE:
      • Be careful not to bend the transmitter battery electrode during installation.
      • Keep the inside of the transmitter housing cover free of dust and oil.
      • When replacing the transmitter battery, before starting work, remove static electricity that has built up in the body by touching, for example, the vehicle to prevent the electrical transmitter from being damaged.
    2. Install the transmitter battery cover.

  5. INSTALL DOOR CONTROL TRANSMITTER MODULE SET SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the door control transmitter module set sub-assembly into the transmitter housing case.

  6. INSTALL TRANSMITTER HOUSING COVER 
    1. Install the transmitter housing cover to the transmitter housing case.
