Removal [08/2013 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE LOWER STEERING COLUMN COVER 
    NOTE:

    Removing the lower steering column cover in the incorrect order will cause the parts to break.

    1. Release the tilt lever, and fully extend and lower the steering column.
    2. Lock the tilt lever.
    3. Turn the steering wheel assembly to the left and remove the screw.

    4. Turn the steering wheel assembly to the right and remove the screw.

    5. Turn back the steering wheel assembly to the center.
    6. Disengage the 2 claws.

    7. Disengage the 2 claws.

    8. Insert your fingers into the opening of the tilt lever of the lower steering column cover and disengage the 2 claws <A>.

      *a Claw <A>
      *b Claw <B>

      HINT: 

      Spread the claw to disengage them.

    9. Disengage the 2 claws <B> to remove the lower steering column cover.
  2. REMOVE UPPER STEERING COLUMN COVER 
    1. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the upper steering column cover.

  3. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect each connector.

    2. Turn the steering wheel assembly to the right.
    3. Using a screwdriver, disengage the claw and remove the windshield wiper switch assembly as shown in the illustration.
      NOTE:

      If the claw is pushed with excessive force, it may break.
