Removal [08/2013 - 08/2016]: Procedure

- PRECAUTION NOTE:
- Perform the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) registration when replacing the ECM.

- After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notice before proceeding with work.

- Perform the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) registration when replacing the ECM.
- DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL NOTE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

- SEPARATE INLET NO. 1 AIR CLEANER
- REMOVE ECM
- Raise the 2 levers while pushing the locks on the levers, and disconnect the 2 ECM connectors.NOTE:
After disconnecting the ECM connectors, make sure that dirt, water or other foreign matter does not contact the connecting parts of the ECM connectors.
- Disengage the wire harness clamp.
- Remove the 3 bolts.
- Disengage the clamp and remove the ECM.NOTE:
If the ECM has been struck or dropped, replace it.
- Raise the 2 levers while pushing the locks on the levers, and disconnect the 2 ECM connectors.
- REMOVE ECM BRACKET
- REMOVE NO. 2 ECM BRACKET
