Microphone Circuit between Microphone and Navigation Receiver Assembly [11/2015 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK MICROPHONE (OPERATION CHECK) 
    1. Enter the "Microphone Check" screen. Refer to Check Microphone in Operation Check.

      Refer to OPERATION CHECK [11/2015 - 11/2017] , or refer to OPERATION CHECK [11/2017 - 08/2019] , or refer to OPERATION CHECK [08/2019 - ]

    2. When a voice is input into the microphone, check that the microphone input level meter changes according to the input voice.
    3. Push the recording switch and perform voice recording.

      HINT: 

      • Select the recording switch with the blower motor of the air conditioning system stopped. If an outlet of the air conditioning system is facing the microphone, noise may be recorded.
      • Voice can be recorded for up to 5 seconds.
    4. Check that the recording indicator remains on while recording and that the recorded voice is played normally without noise or distortion.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - TELEPHONE MICROPHONE ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the F92 navigation receiver assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the O2 telephone microphone assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F92-4 (MACC) - O2-1 (MACC) Always Below 1 Ω
      F92-5 (MIN+) - O2-2 (MCO+) Always Below 1 Ω
      F92-19 (MIN-) - O2-4 (MCO-) Always Below 1 Ω
      F92-6 (SNS2) - O2-3 (SNS2) Always Below 1 Ω
      F92-4 (MACC) or O2-1 (MACC) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    1. Disconnect the F92 navigation receiver assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the O4 map light assembly (telephone microphone assembly) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      F92-4 (MACC) - O4-17 (MACC) Always Below 1 Ω
      F92-5 (MIN+) - O4-16 (MCO+) Always Below 1 Ω

    1. Disconnect the F36 DCM (telematics transceiver) connector.
    2. Disconnect the O2 telephone microphone assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      F36-33 (MCVD) - O2-1 (MACC) Always Below 1 Ω
      F36-34 (MCI+) - O2-2 (MCO+) Always Below 1 Ω

    2. Disconnect the O4 map light assembly (telephone microphone assembly) connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    1. Turn the power switch on (ACC).
    2. Connect an oscilloscope to terminals 2 (MCO+) and 4 (MCO-) of the O2 telephone microphone assembly connector.

    3. Check the waveform of the telephone microphone assembly using the oscilloscope.

      Result

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    2. Connect an oscilloscope to terminals 16 (MCO+) and 15 (MCO-) of the O4 map light assembly (telephone microphone assembly) connector.

    3. Check the waveform of the map light assembly (telephone microphone assembly) using the oscilloscope.
