Removal [02/2019 - 10/2019]: Procedure
- PRECAUTION WARNING:
Be sure to read precaution thoroughly before servicing.

- w/o Occupant Classification System: Refer to PRECAUTION [11/2018 - 08/2020]
NOTE:After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.
- PLACE FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD
- REMOVE DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY (for HV Model)
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2
- REMOVE REAR NO. 2 FLOOR BOARD (for HV Model)
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 3
- REMOVE BATTERY HOLE COVER (for HV Model)
Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4
- DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL
- for A25A-FKS: Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2
- for A25A-FXS: Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5
WARNING:NOTE:When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

- REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

- REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY

- REMOVE STEERING COLUMN LOWER COVER
- REMOVE STEERING COLUMN UPPER COVER
Remove in this Direction - REMOVE COMBINATION SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY NOTE:
- Do not replace the spiral cable with sensor sub-assembly with the battery connected and the ignition switch ON.
- Do not rotate the spiral cable with sensor sub-assembly without the steering wheel assembly installed, with the battery connected and the ignition switch ON.
- Ensure that the steering wheel assembly is installed and aligned straight when inspecting the steering sensor.
- REMOVE NO. 1 AIR DUCT (for TMC Made)
- REMOVE NO. 2 AIR DUCT SUB-ASSEMBLY (for TMMC Made)
- REMOVE FRONT WHEEL LH

- DISCONNECT STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSEMBLY
See step 22
- REMOVE STEERING COLUMN HOLE COVER
- REMOVE STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSEMBLY
- Using a screwdriver, loosen the clamp as shown in the illustration.
- Remove the bolt and slide the steering intermediate shaft assembly.NOTE:
Do not remove the steering intermediate shaft assembly from the steering column assembly.
*a Matchmark - Put matchmarks on the steering intermediate shaft assembly and steering column assembly.
- Remove the steering intermediate shaft assembly from the steering column assembly.
- Using a screwdriver, loosen the clamp as shown in the illustration.
- REMOVE STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY
