Steering Pad Switch Circuit [08/2020 - 12/2021]: Procedure

  1. INSPECT STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the steering pad switch assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [08/2020 - 12/2021]

    2. Inspect the steering pad switch assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [08/2020 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2020 - 12/2021] 

    Result: 

    OK

  2. INSPECT SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the spiral cable sub-assembly.

      Refer to REMOVAL [08/2020 - 12/2021]

    2. Inspect the spiral cable sub-assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [08/2020 - ]

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [08/2020 - 12/2021] 

    Result: 

    OK 

    See step  3

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY - FORWARD RECOGNITION CAMERA) 
    1. Disconnect the G20 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the P8 forward recognition camera connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G20-6 (DIST) - P8-3 (LKSW) Always Below 1 Ω
    4. Connect the G20 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.
    5. Connect the P8 forward recognition camera connector.

      Result

      Result  Proceed to
      OK (for HV Model) A
      OK (for Gasoline Model) B
      NG C

    Result:

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result:

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the spiral cable sub-assembly connector.

      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Spiral Cable Sub-assembly)
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G20-2 (ECC) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Connect the spiral cable sub-assembly connector.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [11/2018 - 12/2021] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY - ECM) 
    1. Disconnect the G20 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the A24 ECM connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G20-2 (ECC) - A24-28 (ECCS) Always Below 1 Ω
    4. Connect the G20 spiral cable sub-assembly connector.
    5. Connect the A24 ECM connector.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [11/2018 - 12/2021] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
