Headlight Cleaner Motor and Relay Circuit [08/2015 - 08/2017]: Procedure

  1. INSPECT FUSE (ECU-IG No. 2, H-LP CLN) 
    1. Remove the ECU-IG No. 2 fuse from the main body ECU.

    2. Remove the H-LP CLN fuse from the engine junction block.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      ECU-IG No. 2 fuse Always Below 1 Ω
      H-LP CLN fuse
    4. Reinstall the ECU-IG No. 2 fuse.
    5. Reinstall the H-LP CLN fuse.

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE FUSE 

    Result: 

    OK

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT CLEANER CONTROL RELAY - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the A32 headlight cleaner control relay connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      A32-3 (IG) - Body ground Ignition switch off Below 1 V
      Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A32-4 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    4. Reconnect the headlight cleaner control relay connector.

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. INSPECT HEADLIGHT CLEANER MOTOR AND PUMP ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the A30 headlight cleaner motor and pump assembly.

    2. Connect the battery positive (+) lead to terminal 1 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 2.
    3. Check that the rear washer motor operates.

      OK

      Headlight cleaner motor operates.

    4. Remove the headlight cleaner motor and pump assembly.

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE HEADLIGHT CLEANER MOTOR AND PUMP ASSEMBLY 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - 08/2017] )

    Result: 

    OK

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CLEANER MOTOR - HEADLIGHT CLEANER CONTROL RELAY AND BATTERY) 
    1. Disconnect the A30 headlight cleaner motor and pump connector.

    2. Disconnect the A32 headlight cleaner control relay connector.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A30-1 - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A30-2 - A32-6 (PB) Always Below 1 Ω
      A30-2 or A32-6 (PB) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
    5. Reconnect the headlight cleaner motor and pump connector.
    6. Reconnect the headlight cleaner control relay connector.

    Result: 

    OK 

    PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 

    (Refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [08/2015 - 08/2017] )

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
