Washer Fluid Level Warning Switch Circuit [08/2015 - 08/2017]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (WASHER FLUID LEVEL WARNING SWITCH) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Data List.
    5. According to the display on the Techstream, read the Data List.
      COMBINATION METER

      Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      Washer Switch Washer fluid level warning switch / ON or OFF ON: Washer jar and tank is empty
      OFF: Washer jar and tank is full
      -

      OK

      On the Techstream screen, each item changes between ON and OFF according to above chart.

    Result: 

    OK 

    PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 

    (Refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [08/2015 - 08/2017] )

    Result: 

    NG

  2. INSPECT WASHER FLUID LEVEL WARNING SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the A31 washer fluid level warning switch connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 (S) - 2 (E) Washer jar is empty Below 5.5 Ω
      Washer jar is full 10 kΩ or higher
    3. Reconnect the washer fluid level warning switch connector.

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPLACE WASHER FLUID LEVEL WARNING SWITCH ASSEMBLY 

    Result: 

    OK

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (WASHER FLUID LEVEL WARNING SWITCH - COMBINATION METER) 
    1. Disconnect the A31 washer fluid level warning switch connector.

    2. Disconnect the H37 combination meter connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A31-1 (S) - H37-10 (WLVL) Always Below 1 Ω
      A31-1 (S) or H37-10 (WLVL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A31-2 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    4. Reconnect the washer fluid level warning switch connector.
    5. Reconnect the combination meter connector.

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 

    (Refer to REMOVAL [08/2015 - 08/2017] )

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
