Manual Up / Down Function Via Back Door Lock Key Cylinder does not Operate [08/2015 - 08/2019]: Procedure

1. Check that the back door power window operates via the back door power window switch.

   OK

   Manual UP/DOWN function operates normally.

Result: 

NG 

GO TO OTHER FLOW CHART (BACK DOOR POWER WINDOW CIRCUIT) 

(Refer to Manual Up / Down Function does not Operate on Back Door Only [08/2015 - 08/2019] )

Result: 

OK 

See step  2

1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
3. Turn the Techstream on.
4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Back Door P/W / Data List.
5. According to the display on the Techstream, read the Data List.

   The Techstream display changes normally when tail gate control switch is operated.

REPLACE BACK DOOR ECU 

(Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 14 )

Result: 

NG

1. Remove the tail gate control switch (Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 29 ).

2. Insert the key into the key cylinder.
3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   Tester Connection	Switch Condition	Specified Condition
   1 (UL) - 3 (E)	Turn key to unlock position	Below 1 Ω
   	Turn key to lock position	10 kΩ or higher
   2 (L) - 3 (E)	Turn key to unlock position	10 kΩ or higher
   	Turn key to lock position	Below 1 Ω

4. Reinstall the tail gate control switch.

Result: 

NG 

REPLACE TAIL GATE CONTROL SWITCH 

(Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 29 )

Result: 

OK 

See step  4

1. Disconnect the V3 back door ECU connector.

2. Disconnect the V18 tail gate control switch connector.
3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   V3-7 (BKUL) - V18-1 (UL)	Always	Below 1 Ω
   V3-8 (BKL) - V18-2 (L)	Always	Below 1 Ω
   V3-19 (KEYE) - V18-3 (E)	Always	Below 1 Ω
   V18-1 (UL) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher
   V18-2 (L) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher
   V18-3 (E) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher

4. Reconnect the tail gate control switch connector.
5. Reconnect the back door ECU connector.

Result: 

OK 

REPLACE BACK DOOR ECU 

(Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 14 )

Result: 

NG 

REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
