DTC B00C2-86: Passenger Seat Occupant Classification Sensor "C" Signal (some circuit quantity, reported via serial data) Invalid [07/2020 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC 
    1. Check the DTCs.

      Body Electrical > SRS Airbag > Trouble Codes 

      Result

      Proceed to
      DTC B00C0-86 is output
      DTC B00C2-86 is output
      DTCs B00C0-86 and B00C2-86 are output
      DTCs B00C0-86 and B00C2-86 are not output

      HINT: 

      Codes other than DTCs B00C0-86 and B00C2-86 may be output at this time, but they are not related to this check.

    Result: 

    DTC B00C2-86 is output

    DTCs B00C0-86 and B00C2-86 are output

    Result: 

    DTCs B00C0-86 and B00C2-86 are not output

  2. CHECK CONNECTION OF CONNECTORS 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal, and wait for at least 60 seconds.
    3. Check that the connectors are properly connected to the airbag sensor assembly and front seat adjuster assembly RH (front occupant classification sensor LH).

      Result

      Proceed to
      Connectors are properly connected
      Connectors are not properly connected

    Result: 

    Connectors are not properly connected 

    CONNECT CONNECTORS PROPERLY 

    Result: 

    Connectors are properly connected

  3. CHECK CONNECTORS 
    1. Disconnect the airbag sensor assembly connector.

      *1 Front Seat Adjuster Assembly RH (Front Occupant Classification Sensor LH)
      *2 Airbag Sensor Assembly
      *3 Wire Harness
    2. Disconnect the front seat adjuster assembly RH (front occupant classification sensor LH) connector.
    3. Check that the connectors (on the airbag sensor assembly side and front seat adjuster assembly RH (front occupant classification sensor LH) side) are not damaged.

      Result

      Proceed to
      Connectors are not deformed or damaged
      Connectors are deformed or damaged

    Result: 

    Connectors are deformed or damaged 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    Connectors are not deformed or damaged

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY - FRONT SEAT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY RH) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      K52-32 (SIG) - U12-2 (SIG) Always Below 1 Ω

    REPLACE FRONT SEAT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY RH 

    for Manual Seat: Refer to REMOVAL [07/2020 - 10/2022] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2022 - ]

    for Power Seat: Refer to REMOVAL [07/2020 - 10/2022] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2022 - ]

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  5. CHECK CONNECTION OF CONNECTORS 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal, and wait for at least 60 seconds.
    3. Check that the connectors are properly connected to the airbag sensor assembly and front seat adjuster assembly RH (rear occupant classification sensor LH).

      Result

      Proceed to
      Connectors are properly connected
      Connectors are not properly connected

    Result: 

    Connectors are not properly connected 

    CONNECT CONNECTORS PROPERLY 

    Result: 

    Connectors are properly connected

  6. CHECK CONNECTORS 
    1. Disconnect the airbag sensor assembly connector.

      *1 Front Seat Adjuster Assembly RH (Rear Occupant Classification Sensor LH)
      *2 Airbag Sensor Assembly
      *3 Wire Harness
    2. Disconnect the front seat adjuster assembly RH (rear occupant classification sensor LH) connector.
    3. Check that the connectors (on the airbag sensor assembly side and front seat adjuster assembly RH (rear occupant classification sensor LH) side) are not damaged.

      Result

      Proceed to
      Connectors are not deformed or damaged
      Connectors are deformed or damaged

    Result: 

    Connectors are deformed or damaged 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    Result: 

    Connectors are not deformed or damaged

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY - FRONT SEAT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY RH) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  8. CHECK CONNECTION OF CONNECTORS 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal, and wait for at least 60 seconds.
    3. Check that the connectors are properly connected to the airbag sensor assembly and front seat adjuster assembly RH.

      Result

      Proceed to
      Connectors are properly connected
      Connectors are not properly connected

  9. CHECK CONNECTORS

    2. Disconnect the front seat adjuster assembly RH connector.
    3. Check that the connectors (on the airbag sensor assembly side and front seat adjuster assembly RH side) are not damaged.

      Connectors are deformed or damaged

    Result: 

    Connectors are deformed or damaged 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  10. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY - FRONT SEAT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY RH) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

  12. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY - FRONT SEAT ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY RH) 
    1. Connect the cable to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal, and wait for at least 2 seconds.
