Pattern Select Switch iMT Mode Circuit [09/2022 - 09/2024]: Procedure

1. Check for SFI system DTCs.

   Powertrain > Engine > Trouble Codes 

   Result

   DTCs are not output	A
   DTCs are output	B

CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE [09/2022 - 09/2024]

1. Remove the iMT switch (pattern select switch assembly).

   *a	Component without harness connected (iMT Switch (Pattern Select Switch Assembly))

2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   5 (MSW1) - 2 (E)	Switch pushed	Below 1 Ω
   5 (MSW1) - 2 (E)	Switch not pushed	10 kΩ or higher

3. Install the iMT switch (pattern select switch assembly).

   Result

   Proceed to
   OK
   NG

Result: 

NG 

REPLACE iMT SWITCH (PATTERN SELECT SWITCH ASSEMBLY). Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2022 - 09/2024] 

Result: 

OK 

See step  3

1. Disconnect the I172 iMT switch (pattern select switch assembly) connector.
2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   I172-2 (E) - Body ground	Always	Below 1 Ω

3. Connect the I172 iMT switch (pattern select switch assembly) connector.

   Result

   Proceed to
   OK
   NG

Result: 

NG 

REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

Result: 

OK 

See step  4

1. Disconnect the I172 iMT switch (pattern select switch assembly) connector.
2. Disconnect the A139 ECM connector.
3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   I172-5 (MSW1) -A139-4 (MTMS)	Always	Below 1 Ω
   I172-5 (MSW1) or A139-4 (MTMS) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher

4. Connect the A139 ECM connector.
5. Connect the I172 iMT switch (pattern select switch assembly) connector.

   Result

   Proceed to
   OK
   NG

Result: 

OK 

REPLACE ECM. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2022 - 11/2022]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [11/2022 - 09/2024] 

Result: 

NG
