Monitor Description

OUTLINE OF DIAGNOSIS 

Detect output characteristics malfunction of the pressure sensor in the canister pump module.

Judge as NG when the pressure sensor output value in the canister pump module is largely different from the intake manifold pressure when the ignition switch is ON.

EXECUTION CONDITION 

Secondary parameters Execution condition
Elapsed time after ignition switch is turned to ON 500 ms or more
and
Less than 60000 ms
Soaking time 60 s or more
Vacuum pump in the canister pump module Not in operation
Switching valve in the canister pump module Open
Purge control Not in operation

GENERAL DRIVING CYCLE 

Perform the diagnosis only once at ignition switch ON.

DIAGNOSTIC METHOD 

If the duration of time while the following conditions are met is longer than the time indicated, judge as NG.

Judgment value 

Malfunction Criteria Threshold Value
Pressure sensor output value in canister pump module - Intake manifold pressure (absolute pressure) when ignition switch is ON -5.9 kPa (-44.6 mmHg, -1.8 inHg) or less, or 5.9 kPa (44.6 mmHg, 1.8 inHg) or more

Time needed for diagnosis 

320 ms

Malfunction indicator light illumination 

Illuminates when malfunction occurs in 2 continuous driving cycles.
