Update Ecu Security Key [11/2021 - ]

  1. UPDATE ECU SECURITY KEY 
    NOTE:
    • It is necessary to log in to the Toyota server to perform an ECU security key update.
    • Users other than Toyota dealers can log in with a guest account issued when an ECU is ordered.
    1. Enter the following menus: System Select / Health Check.
    2. Follow the prompts on the GTS screen to update the ECU security key.

    3. Follow the on-screen instructions to select "Validation" and press "Next".

    4. When replacing the central gateway ECU.

      *a GTS Health Check Screen
      *b "ECU Security Key: Necessary"
      1. Check whether "ECU Security Key: Necessary" is displayed in the upper right corner of the GTS screen.
    5. When replacing a target security key ECU other than the central gateway ECU.

      *a GTS Health Check Screen
      *b "ECU Security Key: Refer to Repair Manual"
      1. Check whether "ECU Security Key: Refer to Repair Manual" is displayed in the upper right corner of the GTS screen.
    6. If "ECU Security Key: Necessary"*1 or "ECU Security Key: Refer to Repair Manual"*2 is displayed, follow the prompts on the GTS screen to update the ECU security key.

      1. *1: When replacing the central gateway ECU.
      2. *2: When replacing a target security key ECU other than the central gateway ECU
    7. Follow the on-screen instructions to select "Update" and press "Next".

    8. In accordance with the display on the GTS, press "OK".

    9. Press the ECU Security Key Update Icon, and once again, select "Validation" then push "Next".

    10. In accordance with the display on the GTS, press "OK".

    11. After "Validation" is performed, enter the following menus: System Select / Health Check.
    12. Check that "ECU Security Key: Refer to Repair Manual" is displayed, and clear the vehicle control history (RoB).

      HINT: 

      Although "ECU Security Key: Refer to Repair Manual" is displayed, if a message is displayed during "Update"*3 or "Validation"*4 , the ECU security key update is completed.

      1. *3: ECU Security Key Update is complete. Press OK.
      2. *4: ECU Security Key Validation is complete. Press OK.
