Removal [02/2024 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE CAM TIMING OIL CONTROL SOLENOID ASSEMBLY (for Intake Side)

      1. Disconnect the connector.
      2. Remove the 2 bolt and cam timing oil solenoid assembly.
        NOTE:

        If the cam timing oil control solenoid assembly has been struck or dropped, replace it.

      3. Remove the O-ring.
        NOTE:
        • Do not scratch the O-ring groove of the cam timing oil control solenoid assembly.
        • If the O-ring groove of the cam timing oil control solenoid assembly is damaged, replace the cam timing oil control solenoid assembly with a new one.
  2. REMOVE CAM TIMING OIL CONTROL SOLENOID ASSEMBLY (for Exhaust Side)

      1. Detach the wire harness.
      2. Disconnect the connector.
      3. Remove the 2 bolts and cam timing oil control solenoid assembly.
        NOTE:

        If the cam timing oil control solenoid assembly has been struck or dropped, replace it.

      4. Remove the O-ring.
        NOTE:
        • Do not scratch the O-ring groove of the cam timing oil control solenoid assembly.
        • If the O-ring groove of the cam timing oil control solenoid assembly is damaged, replace the cam timing oil control solenoid assembly with a new one.
