Removal [12/2024 - ]: Procedure

  1. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT 
  2. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR (except Mexico Models) 
    NOTE:

    If the No. 2 engine coolant temperature sensor has been struck or dropped, replace it.

  3. REMOVE ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR (for Outlet Side) 
    NOTE:

    If the engine coolant temperature sensor has been struck or dropped, replace it.

  4. REMOVE INTAKE MANIFOLD 

    Refer to REMOVAL [12/2024 - ]

  5. REMOVE ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR (for Water Inlet Housing Side)

      1. Disconnect the engine coolant temperature sensor connector.
      2. Using SST, remove the engine coolant temperature sensor from the water inlet housing.
        • SST: 09817-33191 
        NOTE:

        If the engine coolant temperature sensor has been struck or dropped, replace it.

      3. Remove the gasket from the engine coolant temperature sensor.
  6. REMOVE ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR (for Cylinder Head Side)

      1. Disconnect the engine coolant temperature sensor connector.
      2. Using SST, remove the engine coolant temperature sensor from the cylinder head sub-assembly.
        • SST: 09817-33191 
        NOTE:

        If the engine coolant temperature sensor has been struck or dropped, replace it.

      3. Remove the gasket from the engine coolant temperature sensor.
