When the Passenger's Switch is Operated, the Passenger's Side Power Window does not Work in Automatic Operation [11/2021 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK MALFUNCTIONS 
    1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    2. Operate the power window regulator master switch assembly and check that the power window (passenger's side) works in manual operation.

      Does the power window operate manually according to switch operation?

      Result Proceed to
      YES A
      NO B

    Result: 

    PERFORM THE DIAGNOSIS FOR "WHEN THE PASSENGER'S SWITCH IS OPERATED, THE PASSENGER'S SIDE POWER WINDOW DOES NOT WORK IN MANUAL OPERATION". Refer to  When the Passenger's Switch is Operated, the Passenger's Side Power Window does not Work in Manual Operation [11/2021 - ]

  2. CHECK DTC 
    1. Using the GTS, read the DTCs of [Power Window (Switch)] and [Power Window (Passenger)].

      Body Electrical > Power Window (Switch) > Trouble Codes 

      Body Electrical > Power Window (Passenger) > Trouble Codes 

      Are any DTCs displayed?

      Result Proceed to
      YES A
      NO B

    Result: 

    PERFORM THE DIAGNOSIS FOR THE DISPLAYED DTCS

  3. CHECK [ECU CONTROL MODE] (DATA LIST) 
    1. Using the GTS, check the following items in the [Data List] of [Power Window (Passenger)].

      Body Electrical > Power Window (Passenger) > Data List 

      Tester Display Measurement Item Range Diagnostic Note
      ECU Control Mode ECM control status Uninitialized 1
      No Definition
      Uninitialized 2
      Initialized
      -

      Body Electrical > Power Window (Passenger) > Data List 

      Tester Display
      ECU Control Mode

      Is [Initialized] displayed?

      Result Proceed to
      YES A
      NO B

    Result: 

    USING THE GTS, PERFORM [SYSTEM INITIALIZATION] OF [POWER WINDOW (PASSENGER)] 

    Refer to UTILITY [11/2021 - ]

    Then, perform the initial setting of the power window.

    Refer to REGISTRATION [11/2021 - ]

    Result:

  4. CHECK [ONE'S SEAT SWITCH] (DATA LIST) 
    1. Using the GTS, check the following items in the [Data List] of [Power Window (Passenger)].

      Body Electrical > Power Window (Passenger) > Data List

      One's Seat Switch Status of switch at passenger's own seat OFF
      DOWN
      UP
      UP/DOWN
      AUTO
      AUTO DOWN
      AUTO UP
      UP/DOWN/AUTO

      Body Electrical > Power Window (Passenger) > Data List 

      Tester Display
      One's Seat Switch

      Does the display change corresponding to the switch operation?

      Result Proceed to
      YES A
      NO B

    Result: 

    REPLACE THE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY RH. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2021 - ]

  5. CHECK POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY 
    1. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
    2. Disconnect the power window regulator switch assembly connector.
    3. Perform the inspection of power window regulator switch assembly.

      Refer to INSPECTION [11/2021 - ]

      Is the check result OK?

      Result Proceed to
      YES A
      NO B

    Result: 

    REPLACE THE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2021 - ]

  6. CHECK HARNESS (OPEN CIRCUIT) 
    1. Disconnect the power window regulator motor assembly RH connector.
    2. Using a tester, measure the resistance between power window regulator switch assembly connector and power window regulator motor assembly RH connector.

      Connector & terminal

      H3-1 - H5-4

      Is the resistance less than 1 Ω?

      Result Proceed to
      YES A
      NO B

    Result: 

    REPAIR THE HARNESS 

    Repair the open circuit of the harness between power window regulator switch assembly connector and power window regulator motor assembly RH connector.

  7. CHECK HARNESS (SHORT CIRCUIT TO POWER SUPPLY) 
    1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    2. Using a tester, measure the voltage between the power window regulator switch assembly connector and chassis ground.

      Connector & terminal

      H3-1 - Chassis ground

      Is the voltage less than 1 V?

      Result Proceed to
      YES A
      NO B

    Result: 

    REPLACE THE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY RH. Refer to  REMOVAL [11/2021 - ] 

    Result: 

    REPAIR THE HARNESS 

    Repair the short circuit to power supply in the harness between power window regulator switch assembly connector and power window regulator motor assembly RH connector.
