DTC P24BB: EVAP System Leak Detection Pump Pressure Sensor Circuit High [11/2021 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK DATA MONITOR
    1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    2. Using GTS, read the value in [Atmosphere Pressure].

Powertrain > Engine Control System > Data List

      Tester Display
      Atmosphere Pressure

Is the value of [Atmosphere Pressure] 125 kPa (938 mmHg, 36.9 inHg) or more?

      Result Proceed to
      Yes A
No (Even if DTC is detected, the circuit has returned to a normal condition at this time. Reproduce the failure, and then perform the diagnosis again.)
      HINT:
In this case, temporary poor contact of connector, temporary open or short circuit of harness may be the cause.
      B

    Result:

    PERFORM SIMULATION TEST

    Result:

    See step  2

  2. CHECK HARNESS BETWEEN ECM AND CANISTER PUMP MODULE CONNECTOR (OPEN)
    1. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
    2. Disconnect the connector from ECM.
    3. Disconnect the connector from the canister pump module.
    4. Measure the resistance of harness between ECM connector and the canister pump module connector.

      Connector & terminal

      A5-62 (PPMP) - M23-7

      A5-54 (AVSS2) - M23-8

Is the resistance less than 1 Ω?

      Result Proceed to
      Yes A
      No (Repair the following item.)
      • Open circuit in harness between ECM connector and the canister pump module connector
      • Poor contact of coupling connector
      B

    Result:

    REPAIR RELATED PARTS

    Result:

    See step  3

  3. CHECK FOR POOR CONTACT
    1. Check for poor contact of ECM and the canister pump module connector.

Is there poor contact in ECM and the canister pump module connector?

      Result Proceed to
Yes (Repair the poor contact of ECM and the canister pump module connector.) A
      No B

    Result:

    REPAIR CONNECTOR

    Result:

    See step  4

  4. CHECK HARNESS BETWEEN ECM AND CANISTER PUMP MODULE CONNECTOR (SHORT TO POWER SUPPLY)
    1. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
    2. Measure the voltage of harness between ECM connector and the canister pump module connector.

      Connector & terminal

      A5-53 (AVCC2) - Engine ground

      A5-54 (AVSS2) - Engine ground

Is the voltage 1 V or higher?

      Result Proceed to
Yes (Repair the short circuit to power in harness between ECM connector and canister pump module connector.) A
No (Replace the canister pump module.) B

    Result:

    REPAIR HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

    Result:

    REPLACE CANISTER PUMP MODULE

Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 5
