Removal [11/2021 - ]: Procedure
- PRECAUTION NOTE:
- Refer to "PRECAUTION" before handling the airbag system components.

- Do not allow harness and connectors to interfere or get tangled up with other parts.
- Refer to "PRECAUTION" before handling the airbag system components.
- ALIGN FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD
- ADJUST STEERING WHEEL POSITION
- Adjust the tilt position of the steering column to the neutral position and the telescopic position to the longest position.NOTE:
Place the tilt lever in the lock position after the steering column is adjusted.
- Adjust the tilt position of the steering column to the neutral position and the telescopic position to the longest position.
- DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE AUXILIARY BATTERY TERMINAL

- REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
Refer to REMOVAL [11/2021 - ]
- REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY
Refer to REMOVAL [11/2021 - ]
- REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER
- REMOVE TURN SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY
- Disconnect the connector.
- Using pliers, loosen the clamp.
- With the clamp loosened, release the claw using a flat tip screwdriver wrapped with protective tape, and remove the turn signal switch assembly with spiral cable sub-assembly.NOTE:
Do not pay off forcibly. Otherwise, the claws may be damaged.
HINT:
Remove the turn signal switch assembly with spiral cable sub-assembly together with the spiral cable with sensor sub-assembly.
- SEPARATE NO. 2 STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSEMBLY
- REMOVE STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY NOTE:
Never loosen the tilt lever when the steering column assembly is not secured to the vehicle.
- REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER

Perform this procedure only when replacement of the NO. 2 steering intermediate shaft assembly is necessary.Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 1
- REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER

Perform this procedure only when replacement of the NO. 2 steering intermediate shaft assembly is necessary.Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2
- REMOVE NO. 2 STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT ASSEMBLY
HINT:
Perform this procedure only when replacement of the NO. 2 steering intermediate shaft assembly is necessary.*a Matchmark - - - Place an matchmarks between the rack and pinion power steering gear assembly and NO. 2 steering intermediate shaft assembly.
- Remove the bolt, and disconnect the lower side of the NO. 2 steering intermediate shaft assembly.
- Disengage the dust seal claws from the vehicle exterior.
- Remove the NO. 2 steering intermediate shaft assembly from the vehicle interior.
