Front Passenger Side Door Entry Unlock Function does not Operate [02/2024 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM 
    1. When the door control switch on the multiplex network master switch assembly is operated, check that the doors unlock and lock according to the switch operation.

      Refer to OPERATION CHECK [02/2024 - ]

      OK

      Door locks operate normally.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    NG 

    GO TO POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [02/2024 - ] 

    Result: 

    OK

  2. CHECK ENTRY OPERATION 
    1. Check the entry unlock function.
      1. Turn the ignition switch off.

        *a Unlock Sensor (Backside)

        The illustrations shown are examples only.

      2. Open and close the front passenger door.
      3. With the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly outside of the vehicle, press the lock switch of the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly to lock all of the doors.
      4. Hold the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly at the same height as the door outside handle assembly and approximately 0.3 m (0.984 ft.) from the front passenger door.
      5. Check that the LED of the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly blinks.
      6. Touch the unlock sensor on the backside of the front door outside handle assembly (for front passenger door) for 2 seconds or more.*
        1. *: Perform this step 3 seconds or more after performing step (3).

        HINT: 

        When checking the operation of the unlock sensor again, make sure to perform the procedure from step (1).

  3. READ VALUE USING GTS (FR DOOR LOCK POSITION SWITCH STATUS) 
    1. Read the Data List according to the display on the GTS.

  4. READ VALUE USING GTS (PASSENGER SIDE UNLOCK SENSOR) 
    1. Open and close the front passenger door.

      *a Unlock Sensor (Backside)

    2. With the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly outside of the vehicle, press the lock switch of the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly to lock all of the doors.
    3. Hold the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly at the same height as the door outside handle assembly and approximately 0.3 m (0.984 ft.) from the front passenger door.
    4. Check that the LED of the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly blinks.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the GTS.
    6. Touch the unlock sensor on the backside of the front door outside handle assembly (for front passenger door) for 2 seconds or more.*
      1. *: Perform this step 3 seconds or more after performing step (b).

      HINT: 

      When checking the operation of the unlock sensor again, make sure to perform the procedure from step (a).

      • Displays whether the unlock sensor is on or off (even if the sensor is touched and contact is maintained, "ON" is displayed only momentarily).
      • Use this Data List item to help determine if there is an unlock sensor malfunction when the entry unlock function does not operate.

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY) - FRONT DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE ASSEMBLY (FOR FRONT PASSENGER DOOR)) 
    1. Disconnect the E89 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.
    2. Disconnect the G16*1 or G18*2 front door outside handle assembly (for front passenger door) connector.
      1. *1: w/o Digital Key System
      2. *2: w/ Digital Key System
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      W/O DIGITAL KEY SYSTEM

      E89-10 (CLG2) - G16-4 (ANT1) Always Below 1 Ω
      E89-9 (CG2B) - G16-6 (ANT2) Always Below 1 Ω

      E89-9 (CG2B) or G16-6 (ANT2) - Other terminals and body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      W/ DIGITAL KEY SYSTEM

    4. Reconnect the G16*1 or G18*2 front door outside handle assembly (for front passenger door) connector.

    5. Reconnect the E89 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.

  6. READ VALUE USING GTS (PASSENGER SIDE UNLOCK SENSOR)
