Auto Up Operation does not Fully Close Power Window (Jam Protection Function is Activated) [02/2024 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK PROBLEM SYMPTOMS 
    1. Check whether the jam protection function malfunctions while performing the auto up function.

      Refer to OPERATION CHECK [02/2024 - ]

      Result

      The jam protection function malfunctions and the door glass does not fully close. A
      The jam protection function malfunctions and the door glass fully closes. B

    Result:

  2. PERFORM INITIALIZATION (APPLICABLE LOCATION) 
    1. Perform initialization of any power window regulator motor assembly which did not fully close.

      Refer to REGISTRATION [02/2024 - ]

    2. Check whether the jam protection function malfunctions while performing the auto up function.

      Refer to OPERATION CHECK [02/2024 - ]

      OK

      The jam protection function does not malfunction.

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    END (PROBLEM DUE TO INITIALIZATION FAILURE)

  3. VISUAL INSPECTION TO CHECK INSTALLATION CONDITION 
    1. Check that the components related to the power window (door glass, glass runs, power window regulator, door panels, etc.) are installed correctly.

      for Front Door: Refer to DISASSEMBLY [02/2024 - ]

      for Rear Door: Refer to DISASSEMBLY [02/2024 - ]

      NOTE:
      • There is no deformation, distortion, looseness, or damage to the installed components.
      • If there is damage, perform a replacement.

      OK

      Correctly installed.

  4. CHECK DOOR GLASS SLIDING MOVEMENT 
    1. Remove the bolt of the door glass and check that the door glass slides smoothly without being caught when it is moved up and down by hand.
      NOTE:
      • The door glass fits with the glass run without improper contact or deformation.
      • Foreign matter is not caught in the glass run.
      • The glass run is not misaligned.
      • The door belt moulding or door inner glass weatherstrip is not caught.
      • The glass is not tilted and does not catch.

      OK

      The door glass slides smoothly without being caught when it is moved up and down by hand.

  5. CHECK DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR WITH MOTOR ASSEMBLY OPERATION (APPLICABLE LOCATION) 
    1. Remove the door glass sub-assembly.

      for Front Door: Refer to DISASSEMBLY [02/2024 - ]

      for Rear Door: Refer to DISASSEMBLY [02/2024 - ]

    2. Check operation (for Driver Door)
      1. Connect the multiplex network master switch assembly connector.
      2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
      3. Operate the driver door switch of the multiplex network master switch assembly and check that the door window regulator with motor assembly (for Driver Door) operates smoothly.

        OK

        Operates smoothly without being caught.

    3. Check operation (except Driver Door)
      1. Connect the power window regulator switch assembly or rear power window regulator switch assembly connector.
      2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
      3. Operate the power window regulator switch assembly or rear power window regulator switch assembly and check that the door window regulator with motor assembly operates normally.

        OK

        Operates smoothly without being caught.

      Result

  6. PERFORM VISUAL INSPECTION OF DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the door window regulator with motor assembly.

      for Front Door: Refer to DISASSEMBLY [02/2024 - ]

      for Rear Door: Refer to DISASSEMBLY [02/2024 - ]

    2. Remove the power window regulator motor assembly.

      for Front Door: Refer to REMOVAL [02/2024 - ]

      for Rear Door: Refer to REMOVAL [02/2024 - ]

    3. Check that the door window regulator sub-assembly is not deformed or distorted.

      OK

      No deformation or distortion.

      Result

  7. RECHECK PROBLEM SYMPTOMS 
    1. Make sure to reinstall all of the removed parts.

      for Front Door: Refer to REASSEMBLY [02/2024 - ]

      for Rear Door: Refer to REASSEMBLY [02/2024 - ]

    2. Initialize the power window regulator motor assembly. (applicable location)

      Refer to REGISTRATION [02/2024 - ]

    3. Check whether the jam protection function malfunctions while performing the auto up function.

      Refer to OPERATION CHECK [02/2024 - ]

      OK

      The jam protection function does not malfunction.

      Result

  8. PERFORM VISUAL INSPECTION OF DOOR GLASS SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the door glass sub-assembly.

      for Front Door: Refer to DISASSEMBLY [02/2024 - ]

      for Rear Door: Refer to DISASSEMBLY [02/2024 - ]

    2. Check that nothing catches in the glass run in the sliding parts area, and that there is no foreign matter.

      OK

      Nothing catches, and no foreign matter.

  9. PERFORM VISUAL INSPECTION OF GLASS RUN AND GLASS RUN FITTING 
    1. Remove the door glass run.

      for Front Door: Refer to DISASSEMBLY [02/2024 - ]

      for Rear Door: Refer to DISASSEMBLY [02/2024 - ]

    2. Check that nothing catches the glass sub-assembly in the sliding parts area, and that there is no foreign matter or deformation.

      OK

      Nothing catches, and no foreign matter or deformation.

    3. Check that there is no foreign matter or deformation of the installed components of the glass run.

      OK

      No foreign matter or deformation.

      Result

    2. Initialize the power window regulator motor assembly. (applicable location)

  11. PERFORM VISUAL INSPECTION OF DOOR WINDOW REGULATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the door window regulator with motor assembly.

      for Front Door: Refer to DISASSEMBLY [02/2024 - ]

      for Rear Door: Refer to DISASSEMBLY [02/2024 - ]

    2. Remove the power window regulator motor assembly.

      for Front Door: Refer to REMOVAL [02/2024 - ]

      for Rear Door: Refer to REMOVAL [02/2024 - ]

    3. Check that the sliding parts area of the door window regulator sub-assembly is not deformed or distorted.

      OK

      No deformation or distortion.

      Result
