DTC P2533-14: Ignition Switch On/Start Position Circuit Low Circuit Short to Ground or Open [09/2022 - ]: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING GTS (IGR) 
    1. Read the Data List.

      Powertrain > Engine > Data List 

      Tester Display
      IGR

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      The value of IGR is ON A
      None of the above conditions are met B

    Result: 

    CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [09/2022 - ]

  2. CHECK TERMINAL VOLTAGE (IGR VOLTAGE) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Disconnect the ECM connector.
    • Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    • Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition Result
      A11-7 (IGR) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V V

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Post-procedure1

    • None

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE ECM. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2022 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG

  3. INSPECT IGR NO. 4 RELAY 

    Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION [09/2022 - ]

    REPLACE IGR NO. 4 RELAY 

    Result: 

    OK

  4. CHECK TERMINAL VOLTAGE (POWER SOURCE OF IGR NO. 4 RELAY) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Remove the IGR NO. 4 relay from the No. 2 engine room relay block and junction block assembly.

      *1 No. 2 Engine Room Relay Block and Junction Block Assembly
      *2 IGR NO. 4 Relay
    • Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Result
      5 (IGR NO. 4 relay) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V V

    Post-procedure1

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (AUXILIARY BATTERY - IGR NO. 4 RELAY)

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (IGR NO. 4 RELAY - BODY GROUND) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Remove the IGR NO. 4 relay from the No. 2 engine room relay block and junction block assembly.
    • Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Result
      1 (IGR NO. 4 relay) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω Ω

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (IGR NO. 4 RELAY - ECM) 

    Pre-procedure1

    • Remove the IGR NO. 4 relay from the No. 2 engine room relay block and junction block assembly.
    • Disconnect the ECM connector.
    • Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition Result
      3 (IGR NO. 4 relay) - A11-7 (IGR) Always Below 1 Ω Ω
      3 (IGR NO. 4 relay) or A11-7 (IGR) - Body ground and other terminals Always 10 kΩ or higher

    Post-procedure1

    • None

    Result:
