Corner Short Range Radar Dynamic Calibration

Mobile Repair Possible:  Van/Car

Calibration Procedure:

Short Range Radar - Auto Learn

The procedure is identical for every corner short range radar attached to the vehicle. Every radar has it's own characteristics, so it should be calibrated again if you replace even only one radar.

  1. Perform "SRR initialization" using an aftersales diagnostic tool. Diagnostics, Programming and Setup.

Refer to DIAGNOSTICS, PROGRAMMING AND SETUP USING IDS IN SERVICE

  2. To follow the process use the diagnostic tool to monitor the "SRR Auto-Learn progress". Diagnostics, Programming and Setup. Refer to DIAGNOSTICS, PROGRAMMING AND SETUP USING IDS IN SERVICE
  3. Drive the vehicle on open roads until the "SRR Auto-Learn progress" reaches 100%.
  4. To complete the SRR initialization more quickly perform the process under the following conditions:
    • Driving speed at 10-20 km/hr
    • Drive past tall thin static objects (preferably metal and at least 1.3m tall and 8cm wide) on both the left and right side of the vehicle (for example guardrails on roads. Metal materials can reflect radar signals fully, so metal guardrails are required as possible)
    • Drive on a straight road so you have minimum steering angle where possible. (Vehicle Yaw Rate < 0.25°/sec, if the yaw rate is bigger than this angle the calibration will not be progressed)
  5. Return to Service Centre and confirm that calibration is complete and no DTCs are present.

Calibration note: In case of Aftersales, the driving course for calibration may be public roads, not a proven area. If the driving course is organized the above conditions such as guardrails and minimum steering angle in No. 4 are perfectly, calibration may be finished within 5 km of public road driving.

If "SRR Auto-learn progress" fails to reach 100% within 15 minutes of driving on suitable roads then check for DTCs.

Diagnose and repair as necessary.

Potential diagnosis/repairs may include:
