Selector Lever Cable: Notes

NOTE: Adjust selector cable following installation of new cable or whenever the correct letter or number on indicator panel is not illuminated with lever in a particular drive range. If cable has not been replaced, remove cover plate beneath transaxle before adjusting cable.
  1. Place transmission selector lever in "P" position. If cable has broken, ensure transmission is in "P" by hand-moving lever on transaxle to the left
    NOTE: Push vehicle forward or backward to ensure parking pawl has engage inside transmission.
  2. If necessary, remove cable boot. Loosen nut for clamping pin which retains selector cable to operating lever on transaxle.
  3. Ensure the selector lever and operating lever are fully engaged in "P" position. Tighten cable clamping pin mounting nut to 71 IN. lb.(8N.m.)
