Air Flow Meter/Sensor: Testing and Inspection

Checking Intake Air Sensor





- Remove connector and hose from intake air sensor and test with digital multimeter US1119 using adapter VW 1315A/1

Potentiometer, checking

- Measure between terminals 3 and 4 specified value: approx. 0.5 - 1.0 k
- Move air sensor flap and measure resistance between terminals 2 and 3
Specified Value: resistance changes

- Measure resistance between terminals 1 and 4
Specified Value:
At 20°C (68°F) = 2.3 - 2.7 k
Over 20°C (68°F) = less
Under 20°C (68°F) = greater
