Code Control Module (Function 07)
NOTE:
The code table lists only those combinations applicable to the VW EuroVan. Coding adjusts the various combination possibilities according to trip impulse number and optional equipment.
Using this function, the instrument cluster can be coded as follows:
- Market versions
- Distance impulse number
- Available equipment activation
- Connect VAG 1551 scan tool. See Figure .
- select operating mode 1 "Rapid data transfer", switch ignition on and enter address word 17 for "instrument cluster". Press right arrow button. Indicated on display:
- Rapid data transfer HELP
- Select function XX
- Press buttons "0" and "7" to select function 07 "Code Control Module." Indicated on display:

- Press "Q" button to confirm input. Indicated on display:
- Code control module
- Enter code numbers XXXXX (0-32000)
- Determine vehicle particulars and input code number using coding table. See Fig 1
. For example, if the code 03231 is entered, it indicates the following information.
- 03: Available equipment. Brake pad wear indicator (01) plus seatbelt warning (02)
- 2: Country version: USA
- 3: Service interval: w/o SRI
- 1: Distance impulse number
- Press "Q" button to confirm input. Indicated on display:
- 7D0920901E T4-KOMBIINSTR. VDO X00
- Coding 03261 WSC 00000 (using the example code of 03261)
- Press forward arrow button. Indicated on display:
- Rapid data transfer HELP
- Select function XX
NOTE: If instrument cluster was replaced, the Data Bus On Board Diagnostic Interface (J533) must also be coded. See CODE CONTROL MODULE (DATA BUS ON BOARD DIAGNOSTIC INTERFACE) . - Press buttons "0" and "6" to select "End Output," function 06. Indicated on display:

- The tester returns to the "Select function" screen.
