Can-Bus Systems
All CAN-Bus systems in the 2015 Golf operate at 500 kBit/s. The Data Bus On Board Diagnostic Interface -J533- connects the individual CAN-Bus systems.
Powertrain CAN-Bus
Due to the growing number of control modules, some powertrain control modules have been moved to other CAN-Bus circuits (for example, ABS Control Module -J104- and Power Steering Control Module -J500-) in the 2015 Golf.
Running Gear CAN-Bus
The 2015 Golf will, for the first time, also have a separate running gear CAN-Bus, which connects all running gear control modules to the vehicle network.
Extended CAN-Bus
Most of the driver assistance systems are on the extended CAN-Bus.
Infotainment CAN-Bus
The network structure shown is an example of the infotainment CAN-Bus. This CAN-Bus has most of the communication and entertainment electronics in the vehicle.
Convenience CAN-Bus
Because there are more control modules on the Convenience CAN-Bus, many systems are controlled using separate LIN Data-Bus circuits. This reduces the necessity of additional CAN-Bus circuits and keeps communications on the CAN-Bus circuits fast and uninterrupted.
There is no CAN-Bus for the instrument cluster The Instrument Cluster Control Module -J285- is now connected to the Convenience CAN-Bus.
