Gearshift Position Sensor
NOTE:
Ensure that the gearshift control rod is correctly adjusted.
- Unclip HO2S lead from transmission member and oil pan and open HO2S connectors.
- Remove front exhaust pipe. Remove front heat shield.
- Ensure that gear selector lever is in Neutral position.
- Adjust gear position sensor. Loosen the adjustment screw so that the gearshift position sensor can be turned.
- Install Adjustment Tool (999 5475) on the gear shift linkage rod outside the nut. Turn sensor until mark on tool is opposite boss on sensor. See Fig 1 .
- Tighten adjusting screw to 115 INCH lbs. (13 Nm.). Install heat shield and exhaust pipe. Secure wiring to transmission member and oil pan.
