Installing ABS hydraulic module

Remove the cover plugs from the brake pipes.

NOTE: Carefully move the brake pipes so that the ABS unit can be installed.

Position the ABS unit and finger-tighten the brake pipes.

Install the support and tighten the bolts. Tightening torque: 25 Nm.

Check the central rubber in the ABS unit which has to fit over the central mounting pin (A).

Position the ABS unit in the support and firmly push the unit over the central mounting pin until the unit is in its position.

Tighten the nuts. Tightening torque: 25 Nm.

Connect the connector and secure it with its locking device.

Mount the brake pipe brackets.

CAUTION: Watch out that all brake pipes are fitted in the mounting rubber before mounting the bracket.

Tighten the brake pipes. Tightening torque: 14 Nm.

Position the windshield washer fluid hoses in the clips.

Position the coolant hose in the clips.

Cars with air-conditioning: 

Cars with turbo engine: 

Clean off spilled brake fluid with warm water and car shampoo.

Bleed the brake system. See Bleeding brake system .

Erase DTCs.

WARNING: Test drive on a quiet road. Drive safely. Abide by local traffic regulations and speed limits while test driving.

Carry out a test drive with a speed of at least 40 km/h for longer than 80 seconds.

Check for correct operation of the ABS system and whether the ABS warning light goes out.

Read out and check whether DTCs are stored.
